And now we start to see the rubber hit the proverbial road. There is a reason that this past week has been one of the most important weeks, to date, in terms of the Mueller investigation. Trump submitted written answers, under penalty of perjury, on Tuesday and then Mueller revealed that the knew Manafort and Cohen had both lied. The details or implications of Manafort's lying are not yet known, but Cohen publicly admitted to lying to Congress about the Russia Trump Tower deal. And now, his testimony appears to conflict with the sworn testimony of Don Jr. It also appears as though Trump's lawyers might need lawyers.

And while Trump may not care that much about Don Jr. or Giuliani, he certainly cares a great deal about Ivanka Trump who is now, reportedly, also in the crosshairs for her involvement in that Russia Trump Tower Deal.

In these most depressing of times, I find comfort in the fact that Donald Trump's idiotic decision to run for presidency has rightly ruined the lives of 33 truly horrible people and mind you, more indictments are coming. Icing on the cake would be him getting impeached and his kids either ending up in prison or fighting financial crimes/treason charges in courts for the rest of their lives. If this is not a literal illustration of 'opening a can of worms' I don't know what is.

I thought Cohen's involvement in this was because he allegedly went to Prague to meet some Russkies. What happened to that claim? Down the memory hole?

How so? He was asked he said they ended in 2014, then was ask.... "But not in 2015 or 2016?" Trump Jr. was asked. "Certainly not '16," - Cohen said there was some in June 2016. That's mid-year not the end.

Mueller has a much, much broader directive. But proof that multiple members of Trump's campaign organization committed perjury about a massive financial link and leverage against Trump by Russia, one where they planned to give Putin a multi-million dollar penthouse for 1/5 of the market price, during the campaign is definitely part "looking for illegal acts between trump and putin to steal the election from hillary."

 

Who knows if they really lied? And what difference does this make with anything. This is a minor inconsequential issue, especially when compared to all the lies Clinton, McCabe, Strzok, and others were caught in.

I want you to go down a hypothetical world with me.

Let's imagine that Obama was in secret discussions with Iran to build a very large project for which Obama would benefit financially in the leadup to the election. And let's say that Obama publicly denied the existence of these discussions and that Obama very publicly defended Iran's behavior on multiple occasions. And then, let's say that multiple people around Obama told lies - while under oath - about those discussions.
