Indeed...so what if, as she believed, he was in HER apartment?

They charged Amber with murder and she got a lower bail than she had when she was charged with a lesser crime. How many people who are charged with murder ever get out on bail in Texas?

There was a red door mat in front of the victim's door. Didn't she notice that? Every apartment has a different number. Didn't she notice the number?
I'm sorry. Her story just doesn't add up. Even if she was drunk she should have been able to find her own apartment.

Yes, I wondered if she were substance affected.

She may have been. They never mentioned doing a drug/alcohol screen on her. But, I heard they did do one on the victim!

What if somebody killed you in your own home thinking it was theirs? Would they be justified?

Do you even read the links before posting or just make it up as you go along to support a narrative? From the OP's CNN link, below the dashed lines. Award for ironic username...goes to...Mr "Truth".
    ==============
The door was slightly ajar as she tried to use her key, which has an electronic chip. When she opened the door, she saw the interior was almost completely dark, according to the affidavit. She described seeing a large silhouette and, believing there was an intruder in her apartment, drew her firearm.

Well......that would depend entirely if it was a reasonably and honestly held mistake of fact. You still have not answered my question...what is your view IF this DID happen in HER apartment?

So she saw the silhouette in the dark apartment, but she didn't see the red door mat? :-(

Where did you read that? Not in the link, they show a doorway memorial, no such mat is visible.

The red mat was shown in news stories. The victim's Mom had given it to him as a gift.

OK then, guess I must take your word on it. Should be mentioned in the court case.

Really.....okay. I am asking that you do, because there is a relevant point in it.

That story is inconsistent with the information that I am aware of regards the location of the body and blood evidence. Now, I am not an investigator on the case, nor am I privy to information that may not be public, but that IS the available information to ME. IF it's accurate, then this version of events is impossible.

Recently, my wife bought a new area rug for our living room. It's pretty cool looking, and contrasts sharply with our hardwood floors. She also bought a smaller (2'x3'?) one for the front door that was identical in appearance. I didn't notice it for weeks, despite the fact that I rolled over it more than a few times. These things happen.

The story can be molded any which way the cops want. Here, the cops report that they have suddenly found marijuana in his apartment. Significantly, the family said he was a church goer and one who never touched illegal substances in his life. The family attorney said this unexpected finding was a campaign by cops to discredit and smear the victim.

If someone was in her apartment illegally and not visibly unarmed and not obeying commands, I have no problem with her shooting them.

People in uniform are usually not held responsible for their actions. The Texas jury will probably let her walk.

I wouldn’t bet on it. Dallas politics is very race oriented. A white cop killed an innocent black man in his own home. There is no excuse no matter what sex/race is involved.
