On Tuesday, diplomats from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and France expressed their concern because of an Iranian medium-range ballistic missile test on Saturday.

The U.S. government stated that the missile Iran tested could reach Europe and the Middle East. According to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the missile could carry multiple warheads and violated Security Council Resolution 2231, which instructed Iran to refrain from “any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.”

France reiterates that the Iranian ballistic missile program is not in compliance with UNSCR 2231 (2015). It calls on Iran to immediately cease any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be able to carry nuclear weapons, including launches using ballistic missile technology.”

As Fox News reports, the European ambassadors joined in expressing their concern:....snip~

Imagine that.....now the Euros have finally learned the truth about Iran. Still, to think Iran will listen to them, they must be delusional. What say ye?

    Delusion confirmed.

In the scheme of modern Nations, Iran has no honor. Culturally, they are a xenophobic nation who operate in the ages old tradition of rug merchants. An agreement, even a signed one, is simply a piece of paper, a starting point, it's never a commitment to anything. That's the reality of their culture. It's worked among themselves for eons.

That is the great mistake "the West" keeps making when dealing with any Nation in the Middle East. After all, there is a reason the ME, in comparison to the "West" is seeped in traditions and lifestyles that are considered ancient in comparison.

Plus Iran, has called for closing the Straits of Hormuz again. The Euros talked all that ****, while we see their embarrassment. They do not.

Security Council Resolution 2231 was related to removing sanctions on Iran as part of the nuclear deal. The US broke the deal hence resolution 2231 no longer applied IMO.

We also have for a previous test:

Dutch Ambassador Karel van Oosterom added, “This kind of ballistic missile activity is inconsistent with the JCPoA , especially Annex B which calls on Iran not to engage in these kinds of activities.” Even French Ambassador François Delattre avowed the test was "inconsistent" with the resolution, urging Iran to "immediately cease any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be able to carry nuclear weapons, including launches using ballistic missile technology.".....snip~

It appears the Euros disagree with you now. The French doing a 180 from their previous statement about Irans compliance.

They are testing longer range missiles in response to the US threat of war. Before tearing up the deal all authorities agreed that Iran was in compliance with all requirements of 2231. Now they are under threat of imminent attack from a hostile nation.

By ending the Iran deal, Trump only made America weaker and less safe, and may have opened the lid to a nuclear Pandora’s box in the Middle East. America has violated an agreement not only with an Iran that has been keeping its part of the bargain, but also with our closest allies: the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the European Union, as well as with Russia and China. Trump claimed he wanted a 'better deal', one that will constrain Iran’s nuclear ambitions and also address Iran’s missile and regional activities. Can anyone point me to the web story about this 'better deal' that Trump struck with the Iranians? Probably not because there isn't one. The Iranian people have been taught for a generation that America can’t be trusted, and Trump proved them right.

There are many reasons withdrawing the United States from the Iran agreement makes America less safe, here are just a few:

►Iran can now rid itself of all but the most basic nuclear inspections. As a member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, Iran is required to accept a basic level of nuclear inspections. However, Iran had been under 24-hour, seven-days-a-week surveillance at key sites; had hundreds of inspectors at its facilities; and was prohibited from expanding its uranium enrichment work beyond 5,060 enrichment machines known as centrifuges, having any uranium enriched beyond 3.67% (to make a bomb, more than 90% enrichment levels are needed), or possessing any more than 300 kilograms of uranium for 15 years (far less than needed for even one bomb). Iran can now, at any time and without any notification to the world, possess as many centrifuges and as much uranium at as high an enrichment level as it choose. This could put it weeks away from building a nuclear weapon.

►Several states have made clear over the years that if Iran is able to build a nuclear weapon, they will do the same. Saudi Arabia's crown prince just told American reporters in March that his country would. Turkey, likewise, has indicated for years that it will match any capability Iran has. America reportedly deploys nuclear weapons in Turkey, and while we are told they are secure, the air base at which they are stored was a battle ground in the coup in Turkey in 2016. It is only a matter of time before there are multiple states with the ability to build nuclear weapons in the Middle East. We are likely to see a mobilization race that could make the origins of World War I seem cute by comparison. It is not clear how any of this makes America safer, let alone Israel.

► North Korea is watching. While the odds are against it, Kim Jong Un could be sincere in stating that he wants to negotiate away his considerable nuclear weapons and missile capabilities. If the goal is to provide North Korea with security assurances should it denuclearize, what does Trump tearing up the deal of his predecessor say about America’s word from here on out? The odds of a negotiated nuclear deal in North Korea just dropped from low to minuscule, and our South Korean allies are increasingly going to question both our leadership and judgment while at the same time continuing their nuclear proliferation.

Well its the Euros taking it to the Security Counsel. Where they already know Russian and China will side with Iran.

Iran better think hard about it.....as the Euros weren't going to comply with US Sanctions on Iran. Now they just might.

Yes, the Saud was against the Iran deal as was Egypt. You do know that all of it makes it less safe for Iran.

Oh and its alleged the US moved its nukes out of Turkey.

I'm convinced it's all a long range plan between the U.S., Israel and Saudi Arabia to entirely destroy Iran, just wipe that nation off the face of the earth.

Iran is going to do what is best for Iran period, so the EU can cough up the bucks to delay the inevitable or blow holes in them now. All this political commentary is just doomsday rhetoric that political leaders need to stay relevant. Hell the way it sounds Iran could take France from within.

If the Euros and the US decide times up for Iran. There isn't anything Iran can do to save their ass.

The Israelis flew all over Iranian airspace with the F-35 and Iran didn't even know they were there. Which Israel and the Saud would want some of that Iranian action.

So much for the Russian S-300 and S-400 anti air.

Slight correction here: Iranian leaders are doing what is best for the current Iranian regime to stay in power. They are in no way doing what is best for it's people and what is in the best interest of the country itself.

If Iran was doing what was best for the country, they would be doing a lot of things much differently.
