The details of the transcript revealed that Comey left lawmakers frustrated with his lack of specifics.

According to a statement from Gowdy’s Office, Comey answered “I don’t remember” 71 times, “I don’t know” 166 times and “I don’t recall” eight times

    (From Goodlatte)
"If you honestly do not know the answer to a question or do not remember it, it is best not to guess. Please give us your best recollection."

Anybody read this yet? I'm on page 10 and Comey has barely spoken... typical Congressional BS so far...

Oh, and Trey Gowdy (will I actually miss this guy?) just put Matt Gaetz in a virtual headlock early on....

I'm new to the Trey Gowdy world, and I understand he behaved like a **** during Benghazi, but he seems like a reasonable person most of the time I hear him...

I've read most of it and I'm personally very upset with FMR. Director Comey. Alot of self-justifying statements(not really new for him) and "I don't remember" followed by instantly remembering whenever the questioner would remind him of said facts. And yeah, thus far into my reading Gowdy was awesome. There was a particular line of statements/questioning by Gowdy, where he logically undermined the obstruction narrative.

Comey himself undermined it with various statements that he made, but I wouldn't want to cloud your judgment with my own.

When you've read all or most of it(and when others do), I'll be more specific as to not spoil. But indeed some of these quotes are a goldmine.

Losing respect for Gowdy already... this is one of the funniest things I've read all year (Pages 15/16)

Mr. Gowdy. So, if you are correct that the Democratic primary was still open in March of 2016, I read that as Special Agent Peter Strzok commenting that she should win the primary 100 million to zero. And I guess an alternative reading of that would be that he already had her as the nominee and she should win the general 100 million to zero. Is there another reading other than those two, winning the primary or winning the general?
Mr. Comey. I'm not in a position to interpret their text exchanges, so I can't answer that.
Mr. Gowdy. In the course of human history, has anyone won an election 100 million to zero, to your knowledge?
Mr. Comey. In the United States?
    Mr. Gowdy. Anywhere.
Mr. Comey. I don't mean to be facetious. I can't speak to Stalin's reelection or Mao Tse-tung reelection campaigns. In --
Mr. Gowdy. 100 million to zero is a lot.

Jesus... what a load of crap.... James Comey is not an expert on Strzok/Page texts....

That one seems popular. Maybe we should print up some tee shirts for 2020.
I may need to supplement my income if he keep running the economy into the ground.

To me, the load of crap was Comey saying he couldn't interpret the meaning of the texts. In fact, he said plenty of things that I was murmuring to myself: "Please". I remember why Dems wanted him gone prior to Trump doing it. This man had no business leading the FBI. In fact, a few pages after the ones you quoted he's going to admit that as director, he really didn't overlook much of the information pertaining to the FISA warrants. Taken from him, his directorship sounds lazy and inept.

Yeah Yeah Yeah.... you are ahead of us... C'mon, is that not one of the silliest exchanges you've ever read from Congress (and I know that's a low bar)??

Comey gives it back though... Stalin's reelection?? LMAO...

Forgive me, I'm a speed reader :p. It's definitely silly, a lot of funny stuff in here. Like you said, the opener with Gaetz was both funny and sad. Not even a second into the hearing and he disrupted it. Not what I want out of a representative of any party.

Ah, hockey. I somewhat liked it but it's a somewhat hard watch for me as a basketball fan. I love offense way too much. Same reason why baseball blows.

I'm totally losing interest on Page 62, although this is a funny exchange with Nadler

Mr. Nadler. Are you best friends with Robert Mueller?
Mr. Comey. I am not. I admire the heck out of the man, but I don't know his phone number, I've never been to his house, I don't know his children's names. I think I had a meal once alone with him in a restaurant. I like him. I am not a -- I'm an associate of his who admires him greatly. We're not friends in any social sense.
Mr. Nadler. Thank you. I will not ask whether you've ever hugged and kissed him.
Mr. Comey. A relief to my wife.

Come to think of it, Comey didn't really address the question....

So Comey can’t have an opinion on what people say? How did he ever manage to do his job?

Gowdy insists on locking up Hillary/ This would be attempt number... what?.... 80 something? I lost count at 50. Too late for that, though. They had 2 years with absolute power, And now that the adults are taking over the House, I think we'll start seeing what real oversight looks like.

25 years trying... almost non-stop.... And they still can't pin anything illegal on Hillary.

If she did anything illegal, she really stuck it to Republicans. No wonder they are frustrated. If nothing else, she has shown how incompetent Republicans are.

It gets worse the more you read. I'm stunned he was ever hired and confirmed to be FBI Director with his testimony under oath. I guess he hid his slouchy behavior real well during those confirmation hearings.

The best thing so far: It blows the narrative that the FBI agents who interviewed Mike Flynn didn't think he liked out of the water.

They KNEW HE LIED. They only said that he didn't show any obvious appearance of lying like sweating or shifting in his seat.

if I said to you I bet you a million dollars this team will win the game
wouldn't your interpretation be that I was sure that team would win the game? doesn't take an expert psychiatrist or a mind reader to come to that conclusion
Comey was being purposely obtuse so not to answer the question which if he truthfully answered it would expose the obvious bias Strzok had

Comey was fired before the texts were found. He hadn't read them so it was silly to ask him about them.

hadn't read them? they been all over the news
you telling me Comey has been living in a cave sense he has been fired?
those text were written while Comey was the director while Strzok and Page was investigating Clinton then Trump which neither should have been investigating Trump or Clinton with the oblivious pro-Clinton anti-Trump bias

It honestly depends on the definition of a 'lie'(and from Mueller's filing, the greater concern is his Turkish activities.) In reality, the trump transition team should of course have all diplomatic rights to engage with other nations IMO. The activity in nature prevented an escalation from the Russian side, and it promoted US interests then in the strongest sense.

There is no if she did anything illegal. There is no if.Only people living in denial use 'if'.Her crimes are well documented. But because the U.S legal system is broken along party lines she kerps getting away with the murder.A bloody joke.
