In the spirit of Thanksgiving and the fact that everybody is driving everywhere, I think it'll be nice for everybody to post the things they like doing or accomplishing while driving. For me, the things I find satisfying is changing lanes without running over the reflectors in the middle of the road, accelerating from a stoplight or on ramp, and taking on a relatively tight curve without braking.

I'd rather not be out there, but semi-trucks get caught in all kinds of stuff.

For me, the most interesting thing is freezing rain on hilly, curvy roads. I appreciate steering with the gas pedal, playing the banking to keep centered in the lane.

The downhill parts can get a bit thrilling... Ya gotta (mostly) just let it roll; and have enough momentum built up to get up the next uphill.

When I'm in the car by myself I am the world's greatest opera singer. I can't be when people are in the car with me too much booing.

I drive blindfolded with the headlights off on a moonless night on the freeway sometimes.

Nice. I do that too. I once did it with a Suburban but I felt like I was going to tip over.

My latest car has a reverse assist camera and I just can't get used to not physically looking behind when er, reversing.

Whenever I have a passenger I tell him or her that the reason my car handles so well is because I keep the tires at 75 psi.

It's a little hyperbole (I think) borrowed from the late, great Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear & Loathing in Vegas"

I'm a man in his 50's. It's satisfying to pluck ear and nostril hair when driving.....

lol I've got a set of tweezers for that, and do my plucking (it's only ever the odd 'straggler' but it's quite satisfying to get a long one though) while vegging out watching the telly. It's one of the few pleasures I have in life.

Mrs Don is understandably reluctant to allow that and so I need to attend to this kind of thing while alone in the car.

Of late I've started to go to a Kurdish barber who includes eyebrow trim, ear deforestation and nostril wax in the £6 cost of a haircut - money well spent IMO.

It sure is value for money, but I'd decline the nostril waxing. Makes my eyes water just thinking about it! :eyepopping:

The most satisfying thing to do is to have an open mountain road with decently banked corners and a spectacular view and no other traffic to interrupt your flow as you control your speed entirely with the gas pedal and the gear shift.

It's good to be able to time your entry to the freeway from a ramp, into that space without having to alter your speed.

That is tricky. I always move over to let them in, but once or twice I had to abort upon realizing that the car already in the outside lane was going faster than I'd thought, and had to slam the brakes on quite hard when the ramp car showed no sign of slowing.
