I do - I have more than you can shake a stick at. One of them is that, when the final cycle of my washing machine finishes, it keeps giving out three l-o-o-o-o-ng beeps until the program controller is manually (or womanually - it doesn't discriminate) turned to 'off'. To come to the point . . . Oi, who said 'I was beginning to think he never would!'? :evileye: Where was I? Oh yeah . . . and I like to finish what I'm doing (usually typing a post) before getting up and going into the kitchen where the machine is. But if, when I eventually reach said machine (and the beeps are really getting on my bloody nerves by now :frustrated: ) to re-set the program controller to 'off', a new set of beeps has just started, I have to wait until they stop again before I do turn it off. It's the same with the microwave - I won't reach into it until at least 30 seconds after the timer stops beeping in case my hand gets zapped by any residual microwaves.

I'm mildly (but legitimately) ocd. It really manifests itself at work, which isn't too bad of a thing since I work with metal and have production tolerances that have to be met. I check, re-check, triple check... then worry it's not right (even though I'm like 95% sure it's right). It's taxing, but worth it since I rarely get an ass chewing from the boss for screwing up. A couple other guys at work have chronic cases of the "f-it's", no idea how they do it.

Keep up the good work. Neurotics of a feather must stick together.

I'm sorry but I just keep apologizing for everything.
Sorry to read that but glad you're making it work for you. Signs of that among my kids to some extent. Happily it hasn't been debilitating. Boy mostly washes his hands. A lot. And takes forever in the shower. Doesn't keep him from school, work, gym. Or parties.

Taking forever in the shower may be indicative of something else with a young lad.

That would be quite a relief. For many of us.

It could explain all the hand washing too.

    Inexplicable habit?

Well, I just cannot resist chocolate and cannot help but think about it. Ever since I was a little kid in Brooklyn, I had fantasies of living in a chocolate filled Paradise ~ everywhere imaginable there would be chocolate candy, bars, cookies, cakes, walls comprised of chocolate, waterfalls of dripping chocolate, chocolate apples dangling from trees by the thousands, cornucopias filled with chocolate candy, shopping bags filled with chocolate, books with pages filled with chocolate candy rather than words, chocolate piggy banks, coins that turned into chocolate, lakes filled with chocolate, chocolate ducks swimming on the water, etc, etc, etc ad infinitum.

In all honesty, I still get those fantasies every once in a while!

Guess what ~ in a few seconds, I'm gonna have some hot chocolate topped with cinnamon and cook whip!

It's a beneficial trait provided that one can keep it under control.

LOL I saw a Simpson's episode where one of them found himself in that very place. No prize for guessing which one of them it was but here's a clue (although the gender I mentioned gives it away!) - it wasn't Marge, Bart, Lisa, or Maggie! Nor Santa's Little Helper!!

On the rare occasion I buy a pack of cigarettes, I 'pack' it 16 times before openning, counting to 8 in my head twice. I don't do this with anything else...

oh no... I just realised what one is... I give my dog these ridiculous meaningless names... sometimes I call her tiny teeth... or tooths (she's got these... never mind) anyway those are some of the milder names, I can be quite outrageous...

I verbally abuse my cat. Or at least, it would be abuse if he knew what I was saying.

'C'mon moron. Get in here or I'll stomp you to death.'

    We have fun.

Lmao, I do that too, but that is a reaction to the cat's inexplicable habits and not an inexplicable habit in itself. :D
