    It draws a sharp contrast between Nancy and trump. Government shuts down and she goes on an obama style luxury Hawaiian vacation while Trump and the first lady visit our troops in a war zone.

    One difference , among many, is that Nancy is going to Hawaii on her own dime.

    Dirty Donnie keeps running up the national debt on security, transportation and accommodations for him and his tribe. All on the public dime.

    I’m going to call Mayor DiBlasio and see if DD has paid for all the NYPD security around his one remaining building.

    What's sad is that Trump was willing to stay right on the job, ready to end the partial government shutdown, and Pelosi was thousands of miles away at an über-luxurious resort instead.

    For many years, Democrats have loved to curse "Fat Cat" Republicans... often with good reason. BUT, do you know what a "LIMOUSINE LIBERAL" is...? :roflol:

    Pelosi is vacationing in Hawaii at the Fairmont Orchid resort; rooms go for $4,899-a-night for the presidential suite.

    Neither party represents the people, but it is cute to see republicans decry cost outlays after the last two years transpire. It’s also reported that trump works less than 6 hours a day and is on track to spend more days golfing in four years than other presidents have in eight, at considerable taxpayer expense.

    Mar-a-largo is having a $1000 per person New Years party that Trump IS attending.

    The secret service rented tents for the Mar-a-largo New Years party at a rental cost of $43,000 for the 2 days.

    Yes Nancy is in Hawaii, but I would be curious to see whos dime is paying for her to be at that resort.

    Both sides of the political elite live in a different world than the rest of us, i don’t think anyone here doubts that, but I find it pretty hypocritical to go after Nancy with all that Trump’s country club has made off of his presidency.

    Hey it is cold and windy in California [barely 60F even in LA today]. Pelosi going to Hawaii isn't very extravagant anyway since it is a $300 round-trip air fare.

    I have no love for Nancy Pelosi and it pains me to defend her but are you guys assuming she is staying in the presidential suite or has this been disclosed elsewhere? The article list a price range and both of you just posted the highest. I am not familiar with the "Washington Free Beacon" but with all the "fake news" around I simply went to the hotels website and stuck in a random weekend. The rates I got started at $379 for Fairmont savers and went up to $686 for the Fairmont gold experience. There are also additional discounts available. I didn't get an option for the presidential suite so you probably have to call them for that one.
