The below article struck me as an interesting and curious story. Just what are in those "parcels" sent from Baghdad to this US Embassy warehouse in Finland?

I most certainly do not buy the argument made in the article that the parcels are spy equipment. Twelve consignments of 5000 items sent to Helsinki and other European US Embassies from Iraq doesn't make any sense.

So I wonder what might be in all those parcels from Baghdad? Nothing good I suspect.

If things are being brought back from Iraq to the countries they originated from, then why Finland, it's not in Nato? It is suspicious. I know that items do not have to be declared when going to embassies, and if it was money to hand out to protesters like in Ukraine, then why are the planes coming from Iraq? More than likely it's arms but for what?

Looks like Washington had enough with the Middle East, and decided to destroy Europe - starting with the East of course. I guess they're also untermenchen and not worthy of the new world order..

I also considered it might be arms too. Either way it is very suspicious imo.

    Thanks for posting this.

This is the kind of story that would NEVER be found in western mainstream media.

Maybe they are pilfering art and artifacts from Iraq.

Or keeping them safe for the Iraqi's.

I also think that they are stealing a piece of art.

That certainly is a plausible explanation.

An aerial pic, and a photo of a building with a fence? Wow, this is really convincing? No pics of suspicious cargo, or shady characters, or weapons, .....only it's a US Embassy, so it must be ....BAD!

Hey Zoom, Happy New Year to you.

Shady characters? Didn't see the newspaper mention any of those. Nor were any weapons mentioned in the story.

What, in your mind, would a picture of a "suspicious cargo" look like? A large wooden box with airfreight stickers on them and a guy wearing a shady cargo jumpsuit bearing a shady airport logo and deadly a clipboard with a bic pen dangling from a piece of string?

These shady diplomatic boxes look something like this:

    Swedish-diplomatic-pouch.jpg

For all anyone knows diplomatic pouches/mail might contain... for example, hard drugs (HERE). Or plundered / stolen art works and ancient artefacts (HERE). Or blood diamonds (HERE). Or weapons even (HERE). And then there are the stories of governments shipping loadsa weapons to terrorists via diplomatic mail.

So let's not pretend this doesn't happen.

So even had the newspaper had photo's of diplomatic boxes being loaded and unloaded it wouldn't inform us of anything in particular - as diplomatic mail is a daily event worldwide, as you know.

But the story was about the volume of diplomatic mail the US Embassy was receiving from one place: Baghdad. Thousands of them. And all destined for the US warehouse in Helsinki that has recently been upgraded with a 13 foot high wire fence.

That seems to be of interest to me...

You "suspect" nothing good in those parcels??

Unless one sees what's in those parcels....it's anyones guess.....youre just basing your "assumption" that it being delivered to a US embassy with unconvincing pics...is all Bad lol.

It could be TV dinners.....Happy meals, maybe Hustler magazine subscriptions....like I said hardly convincing....nice try.

Yep that's a pretty curious story I'm glad I came to this forum

Of course I could think like a humorous ideas such as maybe they are bone saw tailings?

I read above thhat Finland is not in NATO and I think that's incorrect I believe Finland is a member of NATO

Not much to go on I have to ponder why we would keep stuff in Finkamf but I'm betting that's money or bullets or people or all three and maybe a little bit of art to

I suspect our military already knows that the climate is going to change drastically and is making plans to be in the right locations

It's going to be nice when the north gets more temperate and you can grow things and you have 15 hours of daylight

I don't suspect they contain bottles of fine French Burgundy wine if that's what you mean.

Yes and no (the pics are irrelevant as I stated earlier). Whether they are bad or not is the question I suppose. Certainly that volume of diplomatic mail from one place is suspicious -- unless, of course you're able to show that thousands and thousands of diplomatic boxes arrive at the US Embassy secured warehouse in is standard for Helsinki (I'd be interested in seeing that if you have it?)? I've been to Helsinki. You probably have too. It's pleasant enough but a tiny hick town.

Nice try, but TV dinners, happy meals, Hustler magazine subscriptions... it's not. The first two would be available at the commissary or in town. The third would be private subscription and not form part of US diplomatic consignments --- unless you're implying that all US diplomats are w*nkers?. Let me know if you are, okay?

zoom copter may be in orbit

Maybe they are saving up rocket fuel to shoot Donald to the moon LOL??

Doesn't DHS have a like a 1000 bullets for every American somewhere?? Is there likely to be conflict in the Region?? Is Vladdy Daddy going to invade??? I sure hope not and it sounds ridiculous to me.. but who the phuck knows what the hell is going to happen?? Only Donald???

I am pretty much fated to accept the pointy ends.. Not much on pulling real triggers.. Virtual Guns are much more fun

The idea Donald cares about historical art is laughable

He doesn't even appreciate modern art

Well as I say earlier....your "assumptions" are just that, it's anyones guess, and those pics you provided prove nothing. Lots packages received? Embassies receive a lot of things, I've been to one US embassy only in Germany. Never been to Helsinki...I hear it's a fine city.

No I'm not implying all US diplomats are "wankers"....i "suspect" maybe some Brits are?

Thoughtful, but I gave up believing picture money was real when I was about four years old. But it seems you're still stuck at that tender age though. Pity.

But if you want to grow up and join the adult community try wearing long trousers for a start.

Your fascination with pictures of crates is amusing Zoom. And what you call my "assumptions" is actually a "suspicion" but then I'm an old cynic.

I'd hardly describe a thousands as "lots" - but I have to admire your ability for choice of weak words. In your visits to the Germany, did you ever get to visit the HQ at Pullach? :)

Lots of Brits are vankers for sure. But most of those I suspect don't "assume" Penthouse mag is a mandatory subscription item for the US Embassy in Helsinki. US taxpayers will be angry I suspect.

I've read Penthouse. They used to do publish some excellent investigative journalism back in the day. But the meat section was a bit garish imo. My local butcher used it to wrap his meat in.

Well ISIS stole I think $6 billion in cash and gold from Iraq, and a stack of artefacts in Syria was either destroyed or smuggled into Europe and sold...

Now the question is, how much loot did ISIS manage to hang on to and how much of the loot have been distributed between the various parties in Syria... likely no one (but a handful a people) will ever know.

My guess would also be the warehouse is for the safekeeping of stolen artefacts.
