Want to build a border wall? We can learn a lot from Israel

The left in America is constantly saying can't be done and won't work when it comes to a border wall but if you look at Israel there wall has been extremely effective despite initial outcries from their left that the wall wouldn't work. This is a pretty good apples to apples comparison and shows walls do indeed work and can be built for less than what naysayers project.

One other thing this article points out is the wall can take many forms based on location and terrain.

Is our border a war zone? Is Mexico our enemy and want the US to not exist? Dp we have bombers coming thru like Israel does?

The apples part is the paragraph in the OP on the Israeli illegal immigration portion of the wall. It has been extremely effective.

I will grant you that the wall greatly assisted the Israeli army in stopping terrorists and illegal immigrants from entering their country. In the U.S. the military cannot be used to enforce laws. Look up posse comitatus on your Google.

Someone else said it best. We are not at war with Mexico, and very few, if any, terrorists enter our country via a caravan and hopping our fences. They enter far more easily and often times legally. Apples and oranges.

Are you under the impression that our entire southern border is fenced at all much less with a fence that compares to what Israel has?

 

The totally level open terrain of the Negev desert helps.

Indeed it does and in that instance it's a very short hop to get to a populated area where you can just blend in. Our border with it's rugged terrain and vast distances to extraction points or populated areas to blend in actually adds a buffer zone that Israel doesn't enjoy. They have to catch intruders immediately where as we have the luxury of having days to find anyone who does make it over our barrier in the more remote areas. What a good barrier does is limit those that you have to find which makes the border guards job much easier.

What populated areas are anywhere near the Israeli Negev Border?

 

Face it. The wall in Israel works because it has the backing of the entire army.

 

Define "near" I guess. Compared to our vast distances they are near as in an overnight journey across as you said flat ground. Much of our border is extremely rugged and takes days to cross in order to blend in or reach a predetermined extraction point.

This is misleading to say tthe very least.

First of all, there is no illegal immigration into Isreal to speak of. Isreal did not build its network of walls to keep people out of Isreal. They have adopted religious aparteid as their national policy, and the people they are keeping outside their walls are the people who used to live on the land that Isrealis live on now.

This is an apples to oranges comparison.

BTW, Isreal's wall did not really change their political situation at all.
