Constitution for the Middle East as a unitary Arab State.

Hey guys, I wrote a Constitution for a unitary Arab State. In the hypothetical scenario that it would be implemented assume the countries that make it up will be, Yemen, Oman, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Let me know what your thoughts are. Did I leave anything out? Put something in that I shouldn't have? Other questions or concerns? List them below. Thank you for your time. This took me several days to get to this stage.

I don't need to read it to know it's a bad idea simply because a a unitary Arab state is a bad idea. First of all, some of the countries on your list are not even Arab. Secondly, even if you restricted it to Arabs, you don't take into account the various non Arab groups that reside in "Arab" states, and third, even among Arabs, a unitary state is not going to work. Arabs have a kinship society with weak nationhood. They are too primitive to have functioning nations.

 

I believe that given the opportunity and proper circumstances any people can form a successful nation given time.

 

My constitution provides the framework for a good stable national government desperately needed in this area.

 

Also which countries listed are not Arab?

 

Hmmm you need the people to be ready to implement the constitution. There is nothing in recent Mid-East history to make me think that's likely.

 

Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

It's weird that you've spent so much time writing a constitution for a region you don't seem to be that familiar with.

 

Well the Ottoman Empire worked out as the longest historical peace
in the Middle East.
Just not democratic and unhealthy to criticize the gov't.
They had a way of controlling all those tribes, sects, etc.
Preserved and spread a lot of academia. Medicine too.

The Ottomans were not a kinship based society; they were an empire and ruled the middle east for centuries by stomping hard on opposition. That's not the proposal in this thread.

 

Nobody? Thats ok. It only took me three days for the first draft, then a couple weeks of proofreading and secondary writing.

 

A whole three day...

And you wonder why nobody care.

 

That was a rough draft. How long to you think that it took to write a rough draft for the U.S. Constitution? The document is 14 pages of critical political framework.

 

If you guys want to criticize me please do it based on something that I put into the Constitution or left out of the Constitution. If you are not willing to spend time reading it please don't spend time commenting meaningless, or somewhat racist, things that don't contribute to the conversation.

 

The thread seems to have died down now. The total number of people who actually read the document that is the topic of this discussion is one, and that is me, the author. Wow. Guess I took an L on this one.

If anyone wants to read it and revive the thread that would be great.

They establish a caliphate through power.
Then you have a Qur'an to deal with, Are you just going to throw it away.

"Any country", and a "muslim country", are 2 different things.

I just edited the stats sheet to make it clear that Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are not necessarily included.

The Ottomans neglected most of their empire.. They let various tribes govern themselves.. like Christian, Muslims and Jews in Palestine,
