Sounds like everything is going as per "normal" in the BLOTUS's incompetent regime.

Hardly surprising that the BLOTUS doesn't have a clue regarding the concept as to how NEGOTIATION actually works in real life.

Got to wonder how much longer Mulvaney is going to tolerate this kind of treatment.

It would not surprise me in the least if he quits as soon as the next self inflicted crisis becomes apparent.

The State of Disarray of the Nation is coming up soon so will the acting CoS resign before or after?

Oh, and in case I did not make it clear, this thread is not about the government shutdown.

It is about how long Mulvaney will last as the Toddler-in-Chief's nanny.

Bear in mind that Mulvaney NEVER wanted the job and that is why he only accepted on the condition that his title is "ACTING CoS".

He can walk away whenever he wants.

    How so?

What did Mulvaney do to warrant that term?

Hopefully mulvaney is not as fragile as the typical lib snowflake

The day they install a safe room in the white house complete with calming music and petting ponies is the day we know that liberals have regained control

Trump knows he cannot offer any further concessions to the democrats and now mulvaney knows it too

Mulvaney is a deep red Tea Party extremist so I have little doubt that he has no problem dishing it out to those he disagrees with. The question is how thick of a skin does he have when it comes to being rebuked in front of his political opponents? I get the impression that is going to sour what was already a tenuous relationship to begin with.

Been wondering why the BLOTUS is being obstinate about that $5.7 billion number and refuses to negotiate?

First off this scenario would probably not have happened under the recently departed CoS since he was keeping the BLOTUS on a tight rein.

Now that the BLOTUS is off the leash he is not willing to be restrained again.

That is bad news for We the People because the BLOTUS lacks any sense of self restraint and who knows what he might do during a hissyfit?

Getting back to the stubborn stupidity of not budging he is setting himself up for a fall because Congress can, and will, override him on the budget. McConnell is the only thing that is stopping an override and he knows that he is facing a seriously tough 2020 Senate election forecast.

The asinine wall is not a political hill that McConnell would be willing to die on so he is probably looking for something else from the Dems in order to bring an override to the floor of the Senate.

Unfortunately neither the BLOTUS nor McConnell give a crap about the people they are harming with their political shenanigans.

The BLOTUS is being played for McConnell's gain IMO.

Trump is getting frustrated and lashing out. Textbook Narcissistic PD.

Trump knows that the Republicans aren't going to let this shutdown go on forever. They know it is bad business to blow up a deal that you agreed to. The Democrats are holding them to the original deal and they are right in doing so.

    Agreed!

Unfortunately the BLOTUS's "word" isn't worth a piece of used toilet paper that he wiped his YUUUGE orange ass with.

Mulvaney must be regretting his decision already. There is no way he is going to stick it out to the end IMO.

Leadership styles take many forms. But the main two are bully and teacher. I've worked for both. I've been both. Both want results, but the differentiating characteristic is found in how they get those results.

Bullies are impatient and want what they want, when they want it. They yell, the say exactly what's on their mind without filter and they care very little for the feelings of their staff. They don't care about the development of the employee or whether they can produce results, again, in the future. And they don't worry about the future worth of that employee.

The teacher understands that if they take the time to 'lead', it will reap rewards long into the future. They aren't coddlers, or worry so much about feelings - but they are respectful and understand that treating someone poorly will not bring about their best. And their legacy will be future leaders who will surpass them one day.

I'm well aware that 'employees' at the WH are not there to be 'developed' or 'coached', but I'm certain they also didn't sign up to be led by fear of public mocking or retribution. What kind of results will be produced in that environment?

The A and B teams are long gone. C teams are fading. PLOTUS starts hitting to corridors for replacements next.

    From the article:

That’s why I remain convinced that the Trump presidency will end, after the House votes to impeach him, with a delegation of Republicans paying a call on the White House. They’ll advise Trump that his Senate support is uncertain, and that he’d be smart to cut the most important deal of his life — a deal with prosecutors to spare him and his family further legal woes ― if he will just spare the country another day of his presidency.

I don't think that advice will carry much validity. It is not their call to decide whether prosecutors will back off if he resigns. I don't think that resignation is the goal of this investigation at all, and I'm not sure what kind of deal Trump is in a position to cut. And the American people deserve more than that kind of deal.

My own leadership style is that of mentor. I found that it was way more rewarding and achieved far better results since employees rose to meet my expectations of their performance levels. My peers often wondered how I achieved such consistency in my area while they struggled in their own areas.

IMO those who use a bullying management style to intimidate employees do so in order that no one will openly question their decision making. That signifies an inability to defend their positions because they were making poor decisions. Instead I allowed my employees to make their own decisions and when they made the wrong one I would use it as a teaching moment to enable them to learn from it.

I never shied from assuming responsibility for the mistakes of my employees because I was the one who was ultimately accountable. Fewer mistakes plus a loyal staff makes for a better team that works together to accomplish the common goals.

The BLOTUS has been a failure his entire life as far as interpersonal relationships go. That applies to both work and home life. He just makes arbitrary demands and decisions and never takes responsibility when he fails which means he never learns from his mistakes. He should never have been allowed to sit in the Oval office IMO.

Everything that Trump owns or ever cared for is now at risk. This is starting to take hold of him.
