US ambassador in Germany now threatens that the German companies that will be involved in the North Stream Project maybe sanctioned. I wonder, what does US diplomat think? That he is a governor of the US Emperor in Germany and he can determine what to do and what not to do for German business? I think Germany should send him back to the US. https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/polit...sen-59508930,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html
@vis Great. Time to call our allies to account for decades of defense yet they feel no obligation to . . . . to Germany too! Moi FREE Meng Wanzhou! Because babes deserve to be FREE
I can't open the article V, it's subscription. I'm not surprised about the threat for sanctions and don't think for one moment he (Ambassador) is out of sync with the Trump Administration. They want Europe's gas markets and they will do what they need to make it happen.
And yet it will be suicide for the EU since they can't afford American gas. It seems they're stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. Sanctioning industries and nations to compete with Russia will not only destroy our economy but the world's as well. Can't someone tell them to cut it out. Wouldn't it have been smarter to work with Russia right from the start rather than making them an enemy? Seems this though is beyond the reasoning of the one world ideologues. Arrogance stunts them - not to mention they are heavily invested in the military industrial complex.
The unintelligent, unimaginative assclown in the Oval Office can't think of any negotiating tactic beyond threats of "economic devastation" (sanctions) and "fire and fury." The moron is badly overplaying the use of sactions, especially when he starts threatening allies with it. He and his damned alt-Republican cult own this, same as they do the assclown's absurd and equally unimaginative hostage-taking of the federal government. Override his vetos and impeach the mother ****er.
Germany is on the front lines and would suffer the brunt of a war, so the only way they would allow American bases is if they profited from them. I recall the mass protests going on in Germany when Reagan escalated the Cold War. Uhhh, didn't sanctions start with the Obama regime? As for threatening allies, if I recall Russia was not an enemy until the Obama/Nuland coup in Ukraine. We made them an enemy - or better yet until Britain's Integrity Initiative made them our enemy.
Obama wasn't threatening allies with sanctions; he used them wisely and sparingly, and most importantly, appropriately. MAGA is not. Obama was prepared to work with Iran, while MAGA is not. How do you like that, by the way? You're in that pro-Iran, anti-US camp, so that must irk you just a little. As for Ukraine, you are spewing Russian & separatist propaganda, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the topic at hand. And no, Russia was never an ally before then, either. Putin would have to be operating in good faith for that to be remotely possible, which he has never done.
