Today I stumbled across an article on msn.com telling us what hoop earrings such as the ones worn by Ocasio-Cortez mean to Latina women. Upon reading the article, I immediately had two thoughts. Thought 1: How in the frick did this get considered newsworthy enough to get published?! Thought 2: I'm 100 percent sure that my wife, a Peruvian woman, would not agree with a single word the author said. What we are really seeing is leftist politician worship in full swing. This woman is a nobody who has done nothing. Now, in all fairness, perhaps she will go on to do many great things in her life. No one can say. But this raving about someone who really has accomplished nothing at all baffles me. What's next? Will a president win the Nobel Peace Prize just because he's half-black? Oh wait... never mind.

Well, perhaps I have a different perspective from yours. You see, until 18 months ago, I was happily living in Peru. Then, one day, someone showed up on my street corner shouting "¡Arepas!" Now, I had no idea was an arepa was, but I soon learned because within two months there were dozens of these people on every street corner shouting. An arepa is Venezuelan food. So why the sudden influx of countless numbers of Venezuelans into Peru? Well, you see, Venezuela is the kind of socialist nation that AOC craves for the US. Venezuelans leave because there's no food to eat. I figure if AOC wants to live in a Spanish-speaking country with socialism, she should move to Venezuela. She'll probably be very happy there, ¿no crees?
