Free markets work better than managed economies. This has been known since Adam Smith's time. Attempts by the government to manage the economy will only suppress growth and development.

 

I've often said we'd all be better off if there were no politicians.

The economy turned around before Clinton took office, so it had nothing to do with him. Bush lost the elections because of it anyway. Every iniquity we have today and are imposing on the world from the liberal social policies, GMO's, and the loss of the free press to 6 corporation started the first 2 yeas of the Clinton regime.

That was when the Democrats controlled congress and Bill felt free to indulge in all his abominations one after the other, including the bombing of Belgrade. This is when Putin realized Washington was out of control, and that they better start rebuilding their military and fast.

Somalia has had a central government for decades. It's located in Mogadishu. Incidentally, that's where the majority of Somalia's dysfunction and violence takes place. But in tribal Somililand, where the central government exercises effectively no influence, it is relatively peaceful and stable. So Somalia actually proves the exact opposite of what you think it proves. How ironic.
