Last week I had to explain, what Racism is NOT about, to a Dingleberry at my job

He was talking about Black people get their own tv channels, B.E.T. & TV-One & OWN, then I reminded him that Blacks get those channels because we White people get 'the other 297 channels' that cater to our interests.

Then some coworkers laughed. So he got perturbed and shouted "What about how they get a whole month, to celebrate their history!" then I said... they get that whole month of February because "the other 11 months" are used to celebrate White history and how only we Whites made America great.

 

Such as?

Really? Evidence that the 11 other months are used to celebrate white history?

Blacks are 13% of the USA population. So if this nation was not so, racist, than Blacks would have (300 x .13) channels catering to their interests plus they'd be ensured (12 x .13) months to celebrate their history.

And FTR, I'm not even remotely interested in 'legacies'. I'm interested in what the individual is doing today to raise their black family out of poverty, single parenthood, illiteracy, and crime. I once lived in a country in which I rarely saw my own race represented in a movie or on TV. Oddly, it didn't make me feel like I was being persecuted. Maybe it should have! Maybe I should have started a Diversity In Entertainment movement!

I swear those other 297 channels and 11 months of the year contain content and issues that relate to everyone, regardless of race, gender, etc..
