If you are going to be disingenuous then you can go back on ignore. Or have you changed your tune? Are you now against tariffs and trump trade war?

So, you know what has been done to make it difficult to do business do you? Do you know who is responsible? Look in the mirror. Most policies are lobbied for by big business to stifle competition and raise barriers to entry. From the tariff to regulation it's all bullshit from opposite sides of the same coin.

If this is the best you can muster, by all means, please put me on ignore.

Have you ever reviewed the tariff schedules published by the WTO? They list the tariffs imposed on goods imported to each member nation. Might provide some actual facts for you to form an opinion on.

Regardless, I'll stop wasting time. Memes and ideological propaganda provides no basis for a discussion of facts.

It's always the money, and in this case, also the power.

According to your link, manufacturing is the ONLY sector where Trump is outperforming Obama. The rate of job growth has SLOWED in all other sectors.

If you give Trump credit for one, you need to accept that he bears responsibility for the others, no?

Your exactly right we couldn't compete at one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world and with ignorant regulations. Trump fixed the tax rate, mfg is growing. Trump eliminated the outdated dumb regulations and mfg grew. No one is saying manufacturing isn't evolving and in some cases going away to technology, what we all should strive for is a manufacturing segment that has the opportunity to let Americans compete on level playing grounds. We have the best workers with the best manufacturing wages in the world. How any American could not want our manufactures to be in America is beyond comprehension.

Full employment is nice for a change huh? We all see your slight of hand, "rate of job growth". Of course it slows as you get closer to full employment, duh. Wages are going up at a rate higher than projected as well, yet all you want to do is claim the Obama economy was some how better. Well I guess some say the sun is green too but most aren't dumb enough to believe it.

We should make it, but we are busy subsidizing clean coal instead.

    How about this one:

Then we could get some kid with a PhD to do the AI and get rid of traffic in the cities.
85% of Chinese companies are active players in the field of AI, leading all seven nations in the study.

Were we effectively paying the highest tax rates in the world? In many cases the ignorant regulations were lobbied for - paid for - by industry leaders themselves! If it's not clear, I'm all for getting the government 100% the f*** out of the private sector. Americans should be free to trade anything with anybody for any price acceptable by parties of the trade. Full stop.
I agree though that anything that can be competitively made here should be. However, our high standards of living will almost always give way to comparative advantage of emerging countries. And that's ok. It means that we are living in the one of the richest places on the globe.

Of course they are growing faster under Trump. Thats the result of the tariffs.

Now let's talk about the downside of those same tariffs. While you were all dancing in the streets to the job numbers, you all were blissfully ignorant that wages, when adjusted for inflation, were stagnant.

I support tariffs, when they are done right. But these tariffs are going to increase prices for everyday items, thus negatively affecting the working class. And killing any wage growth from the strong jobs markets. So now think about this: Since the jobs market is so strong now, that is driving stronger than normal wage growth. Just think whats going to happen when the jobs market softens and wages stop growing at this rate, and actually normalize while costs keep rising.

I understand that politicians are great at selling only one side of a political argument, and conveniently leaving out the downsides, but this is basic math folks. If you add 2, but subtract 3, your loosing ;)

The middle class has shrunk as a result of the loss of manufacturing jobs.

    https://www.manufacturing.net/article/2014/03/manufacturing-decline-middle-class

Of course, you can say anything you want. However, opinion is just opinion without evidence to back it up. The growing income inequality is evidence the Nation is not doing just fine, as your opinion suggests.[/QUOTE]

Give this a read. I don't agree with all of it, but the numbers are fascinating.
Consider how much of the offshoring is really the result of technology.

We have twice the wealth of China, so I don't think that's the problem.

Who is the government to say who and who I can't trade with? We need a free market to be a free people. Conservatives used to understand this basic tenet.

Interesting to see the sudden interest in the middle class. Here in the dems petri dish, (CA) we have very few left in the middle class.

    I have an idea.
You're an isolationist, so how about we cut out military spending by say $500 billion.
Still more than China and we would have all that money you think we need to compete.
