WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats on Thursday laid out a "Green New Deal" that would eliminate U.S. greenhouse gas emissions within a decade, an effort to make climate change a central issue in the 2020 presidential race.

The document, unveiled by rising political star Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Edward Markey, marks the first formal attempt by lawmakers to define potential legislation to create big government-led investments in clean energy and infrastructure to transition the U.S. economy away from fossil fuels.

The "Green New Deal" is simply Authoritarian Government control disguised as an Environmental Bill.

Some of the idiocy:

Close all nuclear plants. That would basically leave nearly a hundred million Americans with no power during the coldest subzero winters. The question isn't "will people die", but "how many will die"?

Stop Air Travel. It should be real good to get around and shipping? All products are going to get incredibly expensive. Hawaii... too bad!

End Fossil Fuel. America just became a net exporter and the world's leader. It's time to end that international advantage and lose trillions in revenue and countless jobs.

Guaranteed Income. For those unwilling to work! That should make the U.S.A. a real economic leader.

Last night Mark Steyn was talking about AOC's New Green $teal and he mentioned how all the gassy black and white cows looked like the Governor of Virginia with half his makeup on.

Little secret, environmental policy isn't about the environment, it's about these wannabe tyrants seizing the means of production. The Socialist Republics of just China and USSR seized the means of production and starved hundreds of millions to death. Without American fossil fuel or nuclear power, it will take tons of sails to move our aircraft carriers into position. Probably makes no difference though since the carriers won't have any aircraft.

The only rational solution:

1. Nuclear power for the grid, demolish and rebuild old less safe, heavier polluting plants.

2. Household solar

3. Electric cars are taking off, no intervention needed. Let people keep their V8s

Problem solved.

 

This plan makes sense if someone believes the USA is responsible for all the problems in the world.
