How many of you think you would be better off if there was no God than if God did exist?

This isn't a question of whether you think God exists. It's just a hypothetical.
If God existed (as described in the Bible), along with heaven & hell, do you think you would better off than if no God existed?

If hell existed as described in the Bible, then God would be the single most evil being that could ever possibly exist.

Well, I don't care, but doubt, that this god exists.

Having said that, I don't think it would make any difference at all.

    Not a very good hypothetical.
If the Bible is correct (as stated in the OP) - and that God created the Universe and all in it, then for there to be no such God there would be no such Universe and no people to be better or worse off.

The question does not make sense as there is no god.

The single most evil thing that could ever exist is eternal punishment for temporal sins.

This ******* god is said to had drown the whole human race but for one family including new born infants in their mothers arms.

Not even counting almost the whole animal lives on the planet.

Not a caring loving god but an evil god indeed.

Sure it does. Questions about a hypothetical does not imply that the hypothetical is true.

If I had a banana, what colour would it be? Yellow. Even though I do not have a banana, the question makes perfect sense and an adequate answer can be had. The question does not require the banana to exist in order to make sense.

Is your question " do we think we are going to heaven or to hell? " And you will have to clarify the New Testament God or the Old Testament God.

Well, if He does exist as described in the Bible, I think he should be arrested and tried for wholesale genocide, a genocide that no dictator has even approached.

I disagree, we know the world exist since we live in it, nothing changes in that world regardless of whether God exists. I would believe myself to be no better off or worse off regardless of whether he actually exists until the existence is confirmed or denied.
You believe the banana to be yellow, I believe it to be another colour, since neither have a banana then we will both carry on acting according to our colour choice until the colour of the banana has been established. Its actual colour is irrelevant.

It entirely depends on how we’re interpreting the Bible. Experience suggests that if God exists, he either doesn’t intervene in the world or does in a way that is unpredictable or impossible to measure so the only real question would be what happens after death. If we’re taking an interpretation that any “good” people get to go to heaven, I’d like to think I’d be OK but on the interpretation where some level of belief/worship/acceptance of God/Jesus is required, I’d obviously be stuffed. There is also the question of what heaven is actually like and thus whether it would really be heavenly from my point of view (or if I’d just feel wonderful regardless, which strikes me as a little off anyway).

It seems to me "I would believe myself to be no better off or worse off regardless of whether he actually exists until the existence is confirmed or denied." is a valid answer to the question, not a reason to believe the question isn't valid.

The fact that you and I may disagree on the colour of a hypothetical banana also doesn't mean the question doesn't make sense, only that we use different information to answer the question. You may be justified in thinking that there is more than one way to answer the question, but I don't see that the question doesn't make sense, just that assumptions would have to be made. We can declare our assumptions, or ask for clarification. I don't see that we have to declare it not making sense, though.

If God existed as described in the Bible (assuming we go with the interpretation that an eternal Hell exists) I'd be immeasurably worse off. I say that because that would mean that, no matter what happens to me personally, many of my closest friends and loved ones would be tortured for eternity. Even if I were "saved," that would mean an eternity of that awareness, which is itself eternal torture. If the God of the Bible exists in this way, that means eternal torture for me, whether in Hell or in Heaven.

How abut the banana starting off green and changing to yellow? Do you allow for that to occur in your little scenario?

Sure. You may argue that such a banana would be green, brown, yellow, blue or otherwise. It doesn't make the question not make sense.

It denies your allegation that bananas are yellow to the exclusion of any other color.

I didn't say bananas are yellow to the exclusion of any other colour. I said that if I had one, it would be yellow. I may be referring to the fact that I might throw away a banana that was brown or green.

Either way, my point is not that I couldn't have any other colour banana, my point is that the question is still valid. Maybe I would have to give a broader explanation than simply stating a colour, but it doesn't seem to me to make the question make no sense.

Quite an attempt at backpedaling there.

Just admit your error, it is good for the mind.

In what way is it back pedalling? I'm just stopping you from addressing a point I haven't made.

We are all a lot better off with no eternal hell for the vast majority of the world population. And singing God's praises as a sexless angel for all eternity sounds like another hell.

Yes but consider Mark Twain's version of heaven. That if true would almost make god palatable.
