The Senate will hold a vote on the Green New Deal, an environmental and energy plan touted by progressives, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Tuesday.

McConnell told reporters after a meeting of the Senate Republican caucus that he has “great interest” in the plan, which would spell an end for coal, a key economic driver in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky, while promising new jobs for out-of-work miners and other workers.

“We’ll give everybody an opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about the Green New Deal,” McConnell said......snip~

Ahahahahaha…..McConnell is setting up the Demos to see who will support it on record. Getting them on record so they can't just say whatever. This is a smart move by McConnell. Not only does it get the Demos on Record. But he also gets those Demos running for the Presidency on record. Now lets see if Kamala, Warren, Sparticus Booker and others give that full throated support. What say ye?

Sparticus Booker is all in for AOC's Green Deal.....he will be one of the first to fall out of that Demo Clown Car.

McConnell knows this will help Trump and Repubs for 2020. As you can see our resident leftness doesn't like how McConnell just set up the Demos to look really bad in front of the country.

As we can see?? Can you explain that??

First, there is no vote scheduled... Get back to us when there is.... McConnell saying he is "going to do something" is equivalent to

The debate before any bill is voted on will be the key element here... getting R's and T's to continue to go on record saying there are no issues with the climate of the earth... that's always a winning strategy, even if this Green New Deal might be a bridge too far at this time...

Love how the dems/MSM are just pretending the FAQ released by AOC didn't happen. I agree with McConnell, force a vote and lets see who supports it.

So what if Dems support it, Repubs control the Senate and will vote it down. How is this different than Repubs not voting for Obamacare.

So you feel that the Green New Deal is a good idea and would be good for our country?

This Green New Deal will be a hot button issue during the next presidential election. It will be good to know who really supports it vs. people just flapping their lips, which is what most in DC like to do.

Honestly, I haven't looked into it much. The little I have seen/heard seems to over the top but at least it's something to get a conversation started ( I can't believe I just wrote that sentence....I hate that expression.)

    LMAO.

Why Mitch McConnell is holding a vote on the Green New Deal
It’s not because he thinks the Green New Deal is a good idea.

Senate leader McConnell says he will hold vote on Green New Deal plan
    Politics Yesterday
After the Senate majority leader announced that he would let allow a vote on the plan by Democratic senators and congresspeople, many questioned McConnell's decision. The Green New Deal, which proposes sweeping changes to US policy, has not been through the legislative process. McConnell wanted to put senators "on record," he said on Tuesday, but offered no further details.

Did you need to see Right leaning sources since you doubt your leftists sources?

Oh is that equivalent to how McConnell said he was going to get those Judges confirmed.

Get back to us when you finally come into contact with reality.

Yeah I've heard that expression (talking point) used on the tube a few times to mollify how nuts it is. Any honest appraisal of what is proposed however should find the Green New Deal completely insane. It would destroy our nation if implemented.

Looks like environmentalists have looked into it.

Green New Deal Would Kill Almost Everyone, Warns Greenpeace Co-Founder.....

CALGARY, Canada — The “Green New Deal” proposed by congressional Democrats is a “recipe for mass suicide” and the “most ridiculous scenario I ever heard,” Greenpeace Co-Founder Patrick Moore (shown) warned in an exclusive interview with The New American. In fact, Dr. Moore warned that if the “completely preposterous” prescriptions in the scheme were actually implemented, Americans could be forced to turn to cannibalism to avoid starvation — and they still would not survive. Other experts such as Craig Rucker, the executive director of the environmental group Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), also sounded the alarm about the “green” proposal in Congress, comparing it to Soviet five-year plans and calling it a “prescription for disaster.”

Moore, who was one of six international directors of Greenpeace, was flabbergasted that something so ludicrous could even be proposed, much less be advanced in the U.S. government. “It is quite amazing that someone that is in government — actually elected to the government of the United States of America — would propose that we eliminate all fossil fuels in 12 years,” he said in an on-camera interview with The New American from Canada. “This would basically result, if we did it on a global level, it would result in the decimation of the human population from 7-odd billion down to who knows how few people.” It would end up killing almost everyone on the planet, he added.

Worse than mass death would be the way people reacted. “It would basically begin a process of cannibalization among the human species, because the food could not be delivered to the stores in the middle of the cities anymore,” Moore continued. “The point that bothers me the most is that if you eliminated fossil fuels, every tree in the world would be cut for fuel. There is no other source for heating and cooking once you eliminate fossil fuels. You could use animal dung, if there were any animals left, but the animals would all die too because they would all get eaten.” …..snip~

Of course leftists will now be forced to dump on their own. Won't be able to blame Repubs to much.

How is voting different from nonvoting? To ask the question is to answer it.

EVIL PLOT TO LET LEGISLATORS VOTE ON GREEN NEW DEAL: In a development I must admit I hadn’t seen coming, Sen. Ed Markey is objecting to the Senate Majority Leader’s plan for a vote on his Green New Steal bill:

You see, the idea that elected legislators in the national legislature’s premier debating chamber should debate and vote on an introduced resolution is actually a plot to sabotage a national debate on the legislation:

    Got that?

The democrats that think you can flip an island over by putting 5000 people on it will also believe you can build trains across the ocean and eliminate air travel. Democrats who elect these people and believe what they say are a huge joke to the rest of the country.

AOC is like the Democrats sarah Palin, but only half as smart.

Why sponsor something like this in the Senate, and then scream when it gets a floor vote?

And why are they so confident in the fact that their constituents won't see through the obvious charade?

100 years from now, historians are going to look back at our current Democratic Party and just say “WTF?”.

They’ll conclude it was some kind of mass hysteria, like in Salem, Massachusetts circa 1680.
