I know there are many gun control proponents here who would like to place all sorts of restrictions and regulations on guns in the U.S.
However, do we really need all those restrictions on every gun?
Why not put single-shot rifles into a completely separate category?

America has a long tradition of single-shot rifles, and I just think it's completely ridiculous to have all these restrictions on them. On some level it's insulting and denigrating to the idea of freedom. It's the very principle of the thing.

Just the very concept that free citizens could be allowed to have a gun, without all these controls - even if it's only a certain category of gun - shows that the people are not living under one gigantic prison.

I personally don't think it's unreasonable for a 15-year old to go off with a rifle into the forest, in very rural areas, though it depends on the boy and the specific situation.
I know many of you have arguments for why guns should have all these restrictions on them, but I just think it's ridiculous for all those restrictions you propose to apply to single-shot rifles.

Ayuh,..... I was shootin' squirrels by 11, with Grandpa's .22 winchester pump action,....

I was devastated by the Gun Control Act of 1968, when I could no longer buy my own bullets, 'n had to have Mom go down to the corner market to buy 'em for me,.....
13 years old, workin' to earn my own money, but could no longer buy my own ammo,......

I'm in favor of rollin' back All of the gun control laws goin' back to atleast 1932,......

It's black, has a pistol grip, muzzle break, barrel shroud, bipod, adjustable stock, a rail for attaching accessories to it like an optical sight and it's scary looking if you're a liberal.

Just being .50 BMG makes it illegal or highly restricted in some states.

Kinda wondering how long that butt stock or the shooter's shoulder would last with that setup.

$22.50 just to load my new revolver and I cringe at that. What’s .50 big, $8-$10 a round?
