A Korean Girl group that will make their American TV Debut on Colbert tonight. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackpink They are booked for Coachella. This video has over 650 Million views. What do you think?
I prefer Girl's Day, Mamamoo, T-Ara, and Momoland. Blackpink is the most popular girl group among guys, but internationally, Twice is the biggest K-Pop girl group. Too bubblegum for me, but I love Sana. This was the first K-Pop song I ever liked:
Just another corporate created slut band from Korea. They are a dime a dozen, like the all-boy bands we had here while that was a fad. Here is a parody song about groups like this sums it up very well. Fact is it's better than most of these groups songs.
Yeah. That really nails it. Besides, there will never be anything as EPIC as 2NE1: Lead singer CL (now a solo act) closing Pyeongchang Olympics last year:
Well when the girls in Blackpink turn 15 the guys won't find them attractive anymore and will move and the group will just fade away.
not due to my age, but they are not interesting at all. Rap does not sound musical to me. I am more of a fan of
You say that like it's a bad thing. They must be doing something right. K-Pop is now bigger internationally than J-Pop. https://www.tokyoweekender.com/2017/06/the-rise-of-k-pop-from-gangnam-style-to-global-stardom/
lounge singers was/is kool, but today's style they play too loudly for comfort, it'd be ok at a concert hall/venue, but some of these small venues have the volume cranked up waaaay too far for comfort... it's like listening to that moron in their chevy, talking on the phone through the cars sounds system... distortion to the max...
In popular music in the West? Not since the 1990s, I don't think. If you want some vocal skill out of Korea, check out Mamamoo. This isn't my favorite song, but it shows off their enormous talent...
I do not understand the words. But check this out. One of my all time favorites Guess what, you can actually understand the song and love the music
you're just old, me as well... the world has passed us by, music evolves old people's tastes generally don't...my parents said the same thing about the music I liked...and my kids will most probably say the same about my grand kids taste in music, and so it goes... I saw blackpink on colbert, quite bland imo...but what do i know...
I like Journey, and I like a lot of 80s music. However, it would be a lie if I said I understood all the words! But I haven't liked any popular song since 1990, until now with K-Pop girl groups. This is 20 minutes long, but he gets to the point pretty quickly...
loud was okay when I was young and dancing but loud at concert I don't need...the right volume for the venue...
the fact she's a hottie has nothing to do with right? that's elevator music to me, but she's easy to watch...
that sounds okay, I don't understand a word but that's not necessary with vocals, the voice is just another music instrument...
I go years without entering an elevator. She is very easy to watch. And she is famous globally for her being a master of music
One of the best concerts, nay, the very best concert was Neil Diamond. He sang this song at the concert. But he really commands the stage too.
Blackpink's lead vocalist has the same face as this figure skater. Some Korean girls are pretty enough to be accepted internationally.
