it's her body, it's her choice to decide to have a baby or not

when the sperm was in his body, she could not chop off his balls to prevent him from having a child either....

they could really prevent this issue by coming up with a shot men take ever 3 months as birth control

So that's what this is all about. The woman's choice. Not the life of her fetus.

After all, why should the man be held legally responsible for taking the fetus's life if the woman isn't?

By Pro-Choice logic, we should only hold the man responsible for taking away the woman's power over life and death.

(That and any physical effects caused to her body)

I have no issue with tossing extra petri dishes with fertilized eggs in the trash after a women is done with them as they are not babies

I'm just pointing out it seems unfair to punish the man so severely while the woman gets off scot free.
There's some inconsistency there.

The man should not be punished so much in this sort of situation as long as abortion remains legal.

I think each deserves to be looked at separately.

You believe it's ok if the woman assaults her fetus.

So, doesn't that mean we are just talking about the part of this whole affair that was an assault on the woman?
(i.e. We should look at this as if the woman was not pregnant when the abortion pill was given to her without her permission)

So this really goes back to the "fetus is a part of the woman's body" argument. We've had other threads discussing that.
So I will not elaborate further on that in this thread.

Nevertheless, I do see some cognitive dissonance coming from pro-choicers on this. Punishing the man so severely for assaulting a woman's body part that isn't going to be there in a couple months anyway.

(Unless you would try to argue that the baby is still a part of the woman's body even after it leaves)
