Besieged Police Chief Greg Testa admitted that the Black man did nothing wrong yet his officers pulled their guns on him. This also comes against the backdrop of the wave of white people calling the police on innocent Black people doing routine things. Last October, the New York Times listed 39 incidents that captured national attention since May 2018. They include a 12-year-old Black boy mowing a lawn in Cleveland, a uniformed Black firefighter doing his job in Oakland and a former Barack Obama aide moving into his new apartment in New York.


8 cops show up,... as far as I can see they are all white. Guns are out,... because a black man is giving some TLC to his own yard. This is no incident. This happens all the time. So oh yeah, there is no question that there is a racist thing going on in the US where way to many white people treat black people as criminals. Unlikely black people get a fair chance on the job market when they are like that etc.

And you would think, after "incident" after "incident"... that there would be a learning curve by now. But the culture from the Jim Crow era obviously did not disappear with the laws.

While there are also too many people too upset to admit to this. So I ask,... can you prove that there is no Jim Crow culture alive in the US against the backdrop of all these "incidents"?

 

Conservatives dont care. They would probably just root for the cops to shoot.

 

Where are all the supposed “good cops” when “bad cops” are abusing their authority and threatening citizens who are doing nothing wrong?

 

Untrained citizens are expected to stay perfectly calm and rational when a lethal weapon is pointed at them, but supposedly trained police are allowed to panic and kill an unarmed citizen and all they have to say is “I was scared” and they walk free.

 

I just love Democrats cops get called on black people in heavily democratic leaning neighborhoods and it is the mean Republicans and conservatives who are the dad people. You guys are the most self-righteous group of people I have ever seen. Let's play a game we can go through the New York times article about the 29 times cops were called and for every instance that it happened in a county that Trump took you get a $100 and for every one that Hillary took I get a $100. I think that I would love that game.

 

It's not just the blacks, one officer tasered a little old Greek women because she didn't put down her knife. Aha! But what he didn't know was that she was out digging for dandelions and had no idea what he was talking about. I bet the policeman was black and just didn't know the ways of little old Greek women.

As for the police targeting blacks, that's not going to stop unless crimes against the police stop - especially if they have children to support. The only other alternative would be to run around with full protective gear.

If find it exceedingly odd that you never, never hear any of the talking heads on the telescanner say that if the police come to drop everything out of your hands and lay down on the ground, pronto.

People are wrong sometimes. In such a large country it is inevitable. Going straight to racism is frankly irrational and self serving.

No. I do not recall a story 8 cops showed up with their guns out when a white person was attending his yard.

 

Racial profiling is a crime and a foul. They have to answer to that, why 8 of them showed up with their guns out for 1 black guy attending his yard. So far they don't have an excuse, since the black guy according to the cops themselves did nothing wrong.

 

I feel bad for the cops because they HAVE to respond to these calls.

 

Go find me some articles about 8 cops showing up with their guns out for a white dude attending his garden.

 

In this case... what call? And they can just arrest them white folks being scared about their black minority for harassment.
