The Connecticut State Supreme Court, in a split decision, has just ruled that the Remington arms manufacturer can be sued for their marketing of the Bushmaster rifle which was used in the Sandy Hook school massacre. The parents of some of the slaughtered children have brought the suit.20 children and 6 educators were massacred. This many open the floodgates against other gun manufacturers in our many other mass murders.

I wouldn't get too upset. Remember that any one can sue anybody any time for anything. Winning a suit is a totally different ball game.

That may be why the court decision specifically mentions the MARKETING of the Bushmaster???

In the end it won't matter if this passes then manufacturers of propane tanks will later be sued because some ass killed a bunch of people by turning the propane tank into a bomb. Or you can sue ford when someone uses their car to run over a bunch of people. It's a really horrible idea that opens a whole can of worms that ought to stay closed. Pretty sure the next stop will be appellate courts that will slap this crap down.

Elected by the voters in Conneticut. Quantity makes it no less a horrible decision. On the scale of horrible judicial decrees where Dred scott is a ten and Plessy a nine this is an 8 tying with the one that allowed eminent domain to transfer private property from one citizen to another simply to increase tax revenue.

    Not surprising.

Using their dead children to get a paycheck.

    Talk about gross.

Very likely the parents are hoping this will never go to court. Remington would be money ahead to settle out of court. It is expensive to win in court as well as to lose in court. We can only hope that Remington will refuse to settle..

The PARENTS had their children massacred,I'm certain they want to nail Remington to the cross and put them out of business.

Not gonna happen. Remington can find states that are more business friendly. The left only drives business out with silly policies.

An entirely emotional and completely idiotic response on the part of the parents.

Holding a business or person accountable for the actions of another is silly. It is not different than me sueing a shovel maker for someone digging a whole in my yard without my permission.

Basically? They ran cool ads about the bushmaster and what an effective tool it is and that might have been why Lanza murdered his mother and stole the firearms she had purchased for herself and then shot up a school.

To be clear: his mother was influenced to buy the guns by the marketing and that of course would obviously lead to him murdering his mother and then a bunch of children.

It's obviously more churched up than that but that is the gist.

It is not a weapon of war. No self respecting army would use a semiautomatic rifle. They prefer automatics or even better, select fires.
