I don't understand his 'stardom' either. I see and hear nothing special about the guy, and I don't care how well he 'connects' with people. Certainly I see nothing in him that would indicate he would be a great president. Maybe he can better prove himself when the primaries get going, otherwise he should step aside for the more qualified candidates.

From what I've read his wife is NOT onboard AT ALL. She wants to remain a private person, and his running for office causes a lot of friction at home.

Living in Austin I get to hear a lot of Beto this and Beto that. Two women I know were making comments about the size of Beto's crowd when he went and had a protest rally down the street from Trump's rally here in Texas a while back. Then I showed them pictures of Trump's rally and they found something else to talk about real quick. Beto's entire audience was not only dwarfed by the size of Trump's audience, but even the crowd of overflow outside Trump's rally, people who weren't allowed in due to capacity being met, dwarfed Beto's entire audience. A friend of mine asked if I was nervous about all the Beto signs in the yards of houses on the east side and I told him I was not. Those signs are in the yards of a demographic whose members are either not allowed to vote due to criminal convictions or are not interested in registering to vote because "that's how they get you for jury duty". "Beto" is smoke and mirrors via the MSM.
Beto isn't really classified as left center. I listened to Jake Sherman of Politico give some analysis on him. Doesn't seem to inspire a lot of the leftness outside Texas. Sherman says odds are Beto wont surpass Harris. 3 times on Camera he stated he wouldn't run for the Presidency. Adamant that he wouldn't. Now here he is. I wonder if the leftness will be keeping track of his lies. Listening to him talk about those overseas. Its clear he doesn't know anything about Geo Politics other than from a 30 second soundbite.

He said that he wasn’t going to run for president in 2020 no matter what the outcome of the Senate election. That’s apparently not true. So, Bob thinks he can win for some reason, despite have zero accomplishments other than almost winning a statewide race. But we don’t need conservatives to point that out. On the Left, there are some writers who are already making mincemeat of the Bob O’Rourke 2020 candidacy, which is not sitting well with fellow liberals. Enter former Young Turks reporter Michael Tracey who aptly noted how does almost beating Ted Cruz qualifies one for a White House bid. Tracey is also a noted Russian collusion skeptic. He does fall in line with other views on the progressive spectrum but is not afraid to say that the Kremlin collusion business is overblown and that this Bob 2020 run is a mile wide and an inch deep.
