You mean she should be given the sentence that would have been given to her victim, had she gotten away with the false charge against him. That's something to think about. But here, Smollett didn't actually try to frame anyone in particular. He just made it up for attention.

I;m pretty sure is it was a famous white actor, who fabricated a story about blacks, that was criminal, all over the front pages for a while.
He would be charged with a race crime.

 

This is what I feel also.
He deserves a stint in jail, but I'm afraid he will get out of it.
Community service, and probation probably.
And a stiff fine,
but his legal team will drain all his cash, and he has no job.

I'm real glad Cook County refused and would not hand the case over to the FBI.

 

He's on hold, not fired yet, of course there is a legal issue there.
But once he is convicted, he will be fired.

Hmm. You may have a point there. But only because the left wing mainstream media would influence it in that direction, at least in the court of public opinion. I'm not sure though that the corrupt media would hold that much sway in a real courtroom and jury. That's why court findings are often so much at odds with public expectations....a biased media.

 

While individual harm is confined to self. The harm to society is much much greater. Therefore he should, if found guilty and depending on the final charges face a fairly stiff penalty. If he is allowed to get away with a slap on the wrist it will only encourage more folks to pull stunts like this for personal and/or political gain.

He is not sick, he was trying to game the system. If that makes him sick then most of society is sick.
