Comey already had his scheme in place ... in the event he should be fired before actually stumbling upon anything resembling "reasonable cause". Comey knew that Trump retained him as director purely for optics ... his FBI days were numbered. So Comey made preparations to extract his revenge. Comey's power grabs and abuses have nothing to do with any "Higher Loyalty" ... revenge, plain and simple.

Made up BS, to justify the Trumpster talking point. No evidence.

I guess that's your excuse for dancing past the known facts.

Comey's own testimony isn't evidence? Comey revealed his motivation for leaking to media. Comey anticipated special counsel appointment. Trump on the day of Comey's firing, still hadn't been targeted by the FBI. It wasn't until Comey went to Mueller with his "memos" and sob story that Trump became the subject of an investigation. Facts.

I think his ultimate downfall will be linked to his unfounded arrogance. To think that he was on par, intelligence wise, with Comey and now Mueller will prove to be the beginning of his end. His bullying of several politicians who understand 'the game' far better than he does shows how foolish he really is. Like it or not, we all know politics is a game - and Trump is ill prepared to even play! He certainly has no place at the 'big table'. He saw the game and announced that he would be dismantling it (ie. draining the swamp). But all he's done is set up his own table of criminals, hucksters and cheaters.

    Ridiculouser and ridiculouser!!!!!!

So Comey set up this elaborate plot thein anticipation of events that handn't happened yet.

Even if your far fetched notion were true, it clearly would clearly demonstrate that Comey is a whole lot smarter than Trump or any of the bag men and psycophants that surround him are.

Trump himself may not have been the direct focus of an FBI investigation, his campaign and people in it certainly were.

Besides, even I could see that a special counsel was virtually inevitable if Trump tried to interefere in any way with these investigations, which he clearly has been doing from the very start.

And any fool can see that nothing happens around Trump that Trump doesn't involve himself in. There is little doubt an anyone's mind that Trump was fully aware that his team was meeting with the Russians in his own building in the middle of a presidential campaign.

And even more amazing is the degree to which Trumpsters accept as normal the open collusion between virtually the entire senior campaign staff of a US Presidential candidate, with agents of a rival power, and the increasingly evident coordination between that campaign and the Russian cyber war against the United States.

You mean except for the fact that she did fail in Benghazi and during said investigation they discovered she was running her own illegal server?

And he still never committed a crime working with Russians.

If he had done something illegal, he would have been charged with it.

Yeah cause if you hire someone to find a hitman you had nothing to do with it. Taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Putin bank had nothing to do with it. Your campaign manager being deeply involved with Russia had nothing to do with it.

    Give me a break.

Sure, I can tell you again how Manafort's crimes had nothing to do with Trump or Russian collusion if you'd like.
