Trump pulled an inside straight to win the election when the three states that decided his victory (Pennsylvannia, Wisconsin, and Michigan) were won by a combined total of ~75,000 votes. For reference, Jill Stein - the fourth place candidate - earned more than 125,000 across those same three states.

And while the 2020 election is a long way away and it is possible that his chances within these States improve (and Presidents historically perform better against a specific candidate instead of the generic party opponent), Trump is starting from a deep deficit, especially in states like Pennsylvania where a "GOP collapse threatens to torpedo Donald Trump's re-election prospects."

What if the Russians buy a handful of Facebook ads again? Don't you believe they swung the election for trump and that's why Hillary lost the landslide Democrats predicted.

Russia, if you're listening, please hack the DNC and all the 2020 Democrat candidates emails and text messages and give them to Wikileaks.

    Thank you,

    AMERICA

This guy has to be the greatest President of all time. From the 1st day he announced he has been swatting away nay-sayers like King Kong on top of the Empire State Building swatting away planes.

Here is a guy who doesn't drink or drug and every average Joe would like to have a drink with him.

When asked at a debate if he would support the elected nominee he went against the grain and raised his hand as to say "not only no, but, hell no".

Much to the chagrin of the Democrats he not only attacked dog-faced republicans but he obliterated the sacred cow Clinton. Why not, he had the best looking First Lady ever in Melania.

He hasn't fulfilled all his campaign promise's, but, he has accomplished a lot of good for the country in what he has done.

The only thing I can see that Democrats don't like about him is the way he talks. He's not up to their snobbish standards.

    He deserves a second term.

You have to love their overconfidence. It's not like it got them into trouble the last time.

Bottom 5 might be a bit charitable.

    Bottom 3.

Even Bottom 1. (In a race with Buchanan and Andrew Johnson).

This is the same type of delusion that caused democrats to be shocked at the last election results.

Don't you think you should take a wait and see attitude just to be on the safe side this time?

And for the record... shockingly, the OP is not entirely accurate. Who knew lol

According to a recent opinion survey from The Wall Street Journal, the president “cumulatively leads a generic Democratic opponent, 46 percent to 40 percent,” in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The last election results saw Democrats in the house earn approximately 9.8 million more votes, and almost precisely match the pre-election average of polls.

Indiana - a state that trump won by nearly 20 points - gets included in your list for a reason.

Boohoo, it's just 20% of the poll anyway. Fair point though. Here is another fair point, it's Trump against a 'generic' democrat... 'Generic' means no past, no opposition research, no skeletons in the closet, no voting history to critique, no executive decisions to take apart, no mistakes, no bad marriages, no police records.... basically Mr. or Mrs. Perfect.

"Generic" means it has nowhere to go but down...and Trump is already beating this "generic" democrat.

    OK.

Post a LINK to the Exact Poll. I'll wait.

That RW BS Article doesn't have a link to the poll.

    Looks like unsourced RW BS.

Funny you should mention this.... It's WSJ poll so it is behind the paywall... The link I provided is for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, second largest daily in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania... The link to this article was posted on RCP, it's perfectly legit.

Meanwhile, the OP claiming "recent polling" and Trump's map from hell DOES NOT HAVE ANY LINK TO ANY POLL. ouch :D

If the democrats run a pro-green new deal and pro-reparations socialist, are you sure that these states won't vote for Trump?

The claim seems to originate from the Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Laura Cox, in an opinion piece of hers published through The Detroit News: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/o...rise-if-trump-wins-michigan-again/3140787002/

That's it. There is nothing to be found from WSJ and no other article that cites it, apart from that triblive.com piece, which looks like something someone cooked up based directly on Laura's opinion piece.
