I've had the "treason" debate. Who was convicted of treason? Lee wasn't, though there's a good case to made that he was treasonous. My analogy is that one man's traitor, is another man's esteemed statesman. Lee's stature doesn't solely revolve around the 4 yrs he spent fighting the union. That involvement is a blemish, but it doesn't erase his noteable past. Like everything else, majority rule, or equal representation applies.

Six or seven, and no one was raping me while I did it.

No, you are making the claim. You provide the evidence.

Not at all; I'm probably just a self-serving artist. :) And you clearly don't understand the law here. :(

If what is your art? You REALLY don't know the law on this... And these memorials aren't YOUR art. They're OUR art, and should be protected as such. The states need to step in as Georgia did and protect these national treasures.

Changes nothing; educate yourself or remain in the dark. :) You know me all too well. :blowkiss:Uncle Google awaits you. :) Is it just me, or are you turned on right now too? :couple_inlove: :lick: :couple_inlove:

Those are some pretty weak arguments he's making, eh?

No one because they were trying to heal the country.

He took up arms against this country.

Of course it does, you can feed the homeless for 20yrs if you murder some 25yrs later that destroys all the good works you did the previous 20yrs.

    Treason is treason.

    Against England.

When he wasn't serially raping the slave/s he owned.

    Or making genocidal proclamations.

    You cool with that?

    Yup. Nope.

Educate yourself or not; it's up to you. :)

Start a thread about it maybe - the whole thing's tangential to this discussion.

    Ok this is America Jack.

One fight at a time, right now we are dealing with Civil War traitors.

So you'll pass on Lee statue selfies, and Lee's memorabillia ... the vendors are devastated.

Right now we're dealing with virtue signaling hypocrites who want to arbitrarily conceal or destroy national treasures.

You're not honoring him. Have you a deity you'd like to impose instead?

How are traitors national treasures. It would be like Germany honoring Adolf Hitler.

Do you remember the bronze statue of a little girl that popped up on Wall Street? The girl staring down the bronze bull statue. I offered equal representation as a compromise. Maybe an opposing statue of John Brown? I'd rather see sacriligious displays crop up than religious idols torn down. ISIS destroyed ancient temples and burned ancient texts. That's not the right path.

Any 1 of them would have illustrated the point. Freedom of choice, expression, and speech can't be infringed upon. "This is America OK"?

Why don't we honor Benedict Arnold?

Google won't be kind to you on Benedict Arnold monuments, sculpted busts, and particularly portraits. If it's the will of the people to erect monuments you've got to look for another solution.

I don't care about folks erecting statues or monuments, I just don't think traitors statues should be erected at the expense of taxpayers or on public property.

I’m cool with punishing vandals. But at the same time they should consider taking down monuments that emulate people who fought for a disgusting cause.

Washington was a slave owner. But he isn’t emulated for fighting a war to maintain his right to own slaves. That’s where the slippery slope ends.
