Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

Until the encouragement Islamic law gives to honor killing is acknowledged and confronted, more women will suffer.

Tragic, but fortunately not as common here as in Muslim countries. I remember a survey taken among Palestinian women a few years ago where 25% admitted to having been pyhsically
abused by their husbands. Violence is very much a part of Islamic culture.

My favorite honor killing story - if such a thing is possible to have a favorite - occurred in Buffalo, New York in 2009. Muslim Muzzammil Hassan founded Bridges TV in 2004 to counter negative
portrayals of Muslims. He wanted to show Muslims in a good light. In 2009 he was arrested for beheading his wife because she had sought an order of protection against him. Way to improve the
image of Muslims. Good Job!

 

What about polygamy, so every woman can marry a nice guy or help "keep one from going Bad".

No, a crime of passion would be if someone killed their lover or the person with whom their lover was cheating on them with.
That's a huge difference from killing your own family members because they are suspected of doing something improprietous.

 

Did you know, a vast majority of Muslims in poor countries read but one book during their lifetime... guess what book is that?

And what the book says, goes, that’s just how it is. And book says, beat the woman, or worse.

Put the book in prison and toss away the key.
