My sister and I were not baptized as kids because our parents preferred to go camping or sailing on the weekends, so I don’t have any really formed thoughts on God, heaven, hell or the afterlife so I just keep an open mind about all possibilities. I do not understand the mindset of people that will kill for religious beliefs since what little I do know states that murder is a mortal sin. I just don’t understand the mindset of people that orchestrate these actions.

And to all politicians and others after these attacks PC’ing up their language, suck it.

 

When I graduated from high school, only about 5% of the US population was nonreligious. Now it's a little over 20%, and twice that on the West Coast. Among those under 30, it approaches 70% in some areas. Yes, we are winning, we are gaining ground.

 

And then we have these. ^ "Someone" did a very poor job of creating a few. Manufacturer's defect?

It could be the stupidest one going, considering the seriousness of what happened.

I used to give Trumpsters the benefit of the doubt before I started participating in this stuff, which I did so as to actually learn where they are coming from and why they would vote for someone so wacked out as Donald Trump.

But no more!! It's just one bat sh*t crazy load after another.

 

I was educated by Benedictines. Because I read too fast, they put me in a special program with other kids who read too fast. Some of the nuns were actually pretty good teachers, although it seemed the lay teachers were much better. It was in getting educated that religion became dumber and dumber to me. I had never been religious, never believed in god. When everyone bowed their heads to pray, I looked around to see who else wasn't praying. They used to make us go to confession. I would just make up things to tell the priest. It didn't seem right to say, father I have sinned and then have no sins to confess. So I just made up stuff. It didn't matter, I wasn't going to do penance anyhow. I always wanted to dip my hand into holy water, and then pull it out, screaming, it burns it burns.

I was even an alter boy. Mass was just too boring. Being an alter boy gave me something to do. Besides, I could always grab a handful of hosts, to snack on. Once a nun told us a story about where a non-believer didn't believe that the hosts were really the body of Christ. So, to prove it, he received communion, spit out the host into his hand, and when he got home, nailed the host to the wall, and it bled. I tried it more than once. I could never get one to bleed.


Anyway, my professional background has been on the hardware design side of high tech equipment. Freethinkers dominate in that world. From Babbage to Gates. My college education was in physics. There are almost no religious physicists.

 

Who is claiming Obama never said the word Christian?

That isn't what the thread is about.

1. Can you show us examples of Obama or Hillary using the terms prior to yesterday?

2. Can you show us examples of Obama or Hillary referring to Jews as "Passover worshipers", or Muslims as "Ramadan worshipers??
