I think you would become the first target of the mass shooter in that case. The "teacher look" doesn't work well on crazy students. It works well on basically good kids, and keeps them in line.

The FBI claims that the presence of an armed person amongst the victims of a mass shooting leads to a 95% chance of stopping said mass shooting before the shooter was done murdering people. Go argue with them. If you don't want to worry about your kids off at school, home school them.

That's what the fundies who don't want sex ed taught to them do. That's what the anti vaxxers do who don't think their kids need to be exposed to the minuscule risk of a vaccine injury. Do the same for you are as they.

Ah yes. The Rights solution to students or others bringing guns on campuses is to throw more guns at the problem by arming all the teachers. Utmost stupidity.

Ah yes. The left-wingers solution to mass shootings is to make victims of innocent people by doubling down on "Gun Free Zones" which only invites crazies because there won't be any resistance.

Imagine how much safer schools would be IF lessons about good character reigned more than comparing what caliber of weapon/gun a teacher holstered. Changing the culture is the best remedy here...not hiring the quickest draw.

Marksmanship programs should be mandatory in ALL public schools just like the old days before mass shootings.

Hard to keep the all the players straight around here, but are you the teacher from Virginia who said the inmates now run the asylum in schools? I'm thinking it isn't you, because you said " didn't". Anyone currently teaching knows WELL different today.

This is far better than what the far righters were originally calling for, which is all teachers being allowed to bring their guns to school whenever they wanted with no oversite.

For those of you in a tizzy, or know someone who is, about Florida now allowing faculty, staff, and administrators carry while at school...
Remember: The anti-gun left prey on the ignorant.

That's a lot of states allowing their teachers to arm themselves.

    I like it.

No, when they were first suggesting it, they were saying that teachers who own guns should be allowed to simply bring them to school. There was no mention of them being officially trained security. They simply wanted teachers to be allowed to bring their guns to school.

This is an excellent development. Now the scumfucks will at least face someone who can return fire. If they want to be dead, they can be dead quicker in Florida.

That might have worked at one time, but will not stop bullets. And schoolkids today are so entitled and indulged they laugh in the teacher's face when asked to actually sit the **** down shut the **** up and do your ****ing work.

Yeah, that 's working great isn't it? The culture *is* changing. And not for the better. Overindulged entitled little punks raised by helicopter parents absolutely lose their **** when confronted with the reality that everyone who told them how ******n special they are was lying to them.

A Sig Sauer P320 or a Glock 17 are semi-auto pistols that hold 18 rounds with an effective range of 55 yards. There has never been an automatic weapon used in a mass shooting and it is unlikely there ever will as they are awfully hard to come by. Whether a teacher (or other responsible armed adults in the school) can "stop" a mass shooter is less important than the ability to return fire which will at least cause the shooter to pause, possibly giving critical seconds to get more students safely out of the building. As with everything in life except death and taxes, there are no guarantees, but why not at least give them a fighting chance. Then there is the fact that these assclowns will have to at least consider the possibility that the soft target they were planning on attacking may actually have some people inside who can return fire. All good things.

I don't feel face with some overstrssed, underpaid, completely untraijned moron who has no idea how to even shoot a gun (which makes up well over half of gun owners in America) bringing a gun around my kid. Only officially trained security personnel should be permitted to bring a gun into a school.

Florida doesn't even do background checks on their teachers. They've had several known pedophiles get hired to teach grade school children. I wouldn't trust them to know whether or not a teacher was mentally unstable or other such things which make them a danger to the children if they had a gun with them.
