Soldiers charged and convicted him. He disobeyed direct orders and committed a crime according to his military leaders. Not Obama.

In his superiors investigation he murdered a man already in captivity.

Good for him. War is not black and white.

Knowing he killed a muzzie, he had no chance of parole with Obama in office.

Also, I noticed the article in the OP never mentions why the incident took place in the first place. Weird.

    1) Here is the ACTUAL title of your linked article:

Trump pardons former Army Ranger convicted of killing Iraqi prisoner
    ___________

Are you going to edit the title (while you will can), or leave it to the Mods to clean up after you?

    Also, as to the topic:

The Murder was committed in May of 2008 (when BUSH was President).

Outside of misguided RW obsession, what does that have to do with Obama?

(Carry on. Best of luck editing that OP title):salute:

In what way is murdering an unarmed prisoner not black and white?

Also, your use of a slur, any other Conservatives want to comment on the bigotry here or can I assume you all support it?

The brass has been losing its credibility to command since it lost its ability to actually win wars 7 decades ago.

Event: U.S. Soldier murders prisoner in cold blood (while BUSH is President).

    RW Take: "It's Obama's Fault".

Does the RW even think things through anymore before they post these misguided narratives?:smh:

Yeah, the US is the country that supports its war criminals, ALL THE WAY.

So much so that we elect war criminals to the highest offices in the land. We love torture, we practice terror and mayhem instead of diplomacy.

Trump should appoint this guy to be Assistant Vice President.

Hell they can't even define what victory is anymore. Start with a 3rd world country crawling with terrorists, bomb the crap out of it and what are you left with..... a 3rd world country crawling with terrorists. It is impossible to bomb dysfunctional societies into functionality.

Dydad, what do you think the real reason is that America keep sticking its hands into the Middle East tarbaby?

Maybe the soldier discovered his prisoner was homosexual and just honored the law of the land he was occupying. I don't know the circumstances of his capture, but if he didn't throw up his hands until he ran out of ammo for his AK 47 ... he'dve gotten the same from me.

The prisoner was unarmed and was already in US custody.

I disagree. Afghanistan was a relatively peaceful and stable place in the first few years after American intervention, right up until 2008.

    The stats bear it out.

It was only after that point where the Taliban were able to regain a foothold and more troops were sent in.

So to your point, it is entirely possible to bomb an uncivil population into civility. We did it.

    Then the mission changed.

Yes, that seems to be the problem. He was taken into custody instead of killed on the spot. Soldiers aren't policemen, they are biological weapons.

The Iraqi was not in captivity. He had been released. The US Army soldier was given orders to escort the Iraqi back home.

I thought the goal of bombing was to bomb them back into the Stone Age, or to turn the country to glass.

Now you claim we bombed them back into civility. Goodness, the propaganda gets confusing.

    https://www.scotusblog.com/2013/05/the-story-of-michael-behenna-and-mad-dog-5-self-defense-in-war/

"During the trial, an expert witness hired by the prosecution told the Army lawyers that, based on his forensic analysis, he agreed with the sequence of events presented by the defense. But the expert did not testify at trial, nor was his view provided to the defense as part of the prosecution’s obligations to disclose favorable evidence. However, the expert contacted the defense to let them know that he agreed with Behenna’s version of events, prompting the defense lawyers to move for a mistrial."

^ They hid exculpatory evidence, and charged the other soldier with premeditated murder then offered him a sweetheart deal to get him to testify. The other soldier who was just a ****ing driver following his platoon leader's orders.

You don't get to hide exculpatory evidence and still maintain a conviction.

There is big money to be made in war.

"A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction...

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence—economic, political, even spiritual—is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together. [emphasis added]" President of the United States (and five-star general during World War II) Dwight D. Eisenhower from his Farewell Address to the Nation on January 17, 1961.

So during a war in which murdering civilians results in increased recruitment for the enemy, you would say soldiers should be able to murder civilians on a whim just by accusing them of being insurgents/terrorists?

He was still in captivity so long as he had a US soldier at his back with a rifle telling him where to go and what to do.

The USSR had virtually pacified Afghanistan when the US took away their air power.

We see here support for a murderer who "interrogated and stripped naked a man deemed innocent by superior US officers before shooting him twice." . Exactly who are the terrorists and terrorist supporters?

No fair trial - no murder. The soldier remains innocent until proven guilty.

The guy's a convicted murderer and Trumpers love him for that.
Especially because he killed what they call a "*******."
