Trump, like Obama, had a clear majority in both the House and the Senate for his first two years in office. The Democrats worked like 'Trojans' to do everything imaginable to fight Trump and his agenda, and, surprisingly, Trump was having to fight not only Democrats but RINO's in the Republican Party also. He's been "fighting on two fronts" since his first day in office.... Obama, by contrast, never had to fight anybody but Republicans, and, REAL Conservatives. His own obedient, subservient Democrat Party members kissed his half-Black ass until it dripped, while Trump enjoyed no such 'adulation' from his own political party. To answer your question then, Trump's successes came only through robust, concerted effort and persistence in the face of adversity, from "friend" and foe alike. Have you got some reason why Trump has had such success that I haven't thought of? Very possible, but you on the Left never, ever like to consider such things, which to YOU are anathema!
Thank you for answering directly. I don't believe that any president is offered an easy ride. If he had a tough time from Democrats, he joins a long line of presidents who have had to deal with similar. But, unless I'm mistaken, I believe he is the first president to suggest that he deserves two more years to compensate for that.
He was joking, but he jokes too often about too many things. I dislike that trait, and I don't like his constant messaging on Twitter, either. Maybe that's just the "old guy" in me. I think Twitter is just about two steps removed from imbecility. That said, every time I've compared/contrasted Trump with nearly ALL the twenty some-odd Democrat candidates, I've reminded myself that a vote for anyone but Trump is a flirtation with disaster. Every time I hear 'Dizzy Lizzy' Warren, 'Spartacus' Booker, Kamala-la-la Harris or nearly all of the rest of those idiots open their mouths, it just turns my blood to ice.... So far, though, I'm still interested in Pete Buttigieg. He's the one (ONE) Democrat I'm aware of so far who hasn't made himself out to be a pathetic, pandering clown.
The 'old gal' in me dislikes the tweeting as well. And we're on the same page about Buttigieg. Looks like there's hope for us yet!
Aren't you the poster that believes Trump, in 2020, will use the military to keep the white house? Hold up, digging that post up to verify. I just saw it a moment ago
Conservatives complain about how Obama used Executive Orders to get things done, while the Republican Congress refused to work with him. Today, Trump is doing precisely the SAME THING, because he has a divided Congress. Why is it OK for one President to use Executive Orders & not another?
If you read the first paragraph of my post (which you've responded to), you get an idea of why nearly all Republicans and Conservatives were fighting Obama as hard as we could. Only someone who loved the idea of a central bank 'rescuing' those it thought were "too big to fail" could welcome Obama's docile behavior toward the Federal Reserve banking cartel. Then there's the unconstitutional, half-assed 'medical-care' system that FORCED participation, and was really nothing more than yet another welfare program, fueled by 'subsidies'. Honestly, I could spend the rest of the afternoon enumerating all the things that we on the Right found horrifying and disastrous about nearly everything Obama was doing, and trying to do even more.... Instead I'll simply suggest that Trump learned one lesson from Obama -- that what one president can do by personal preference, whim, and dictate, another president can do also. Why fight when all you have to do is grab your "pen and phone" and tell Congress to go to hell...? But it's not so easy for Trump as it was for Obama... Trump has to fight not only rabidly radical, America-hating Democrats, he has to fight back-stabbing RINO's in his own Republican Party....
So what happens to the Constitutional Republic Trump swore to support & protect when he was inaugurated? Since Trump learned to tell Congress to "go to hell," what's left to force Trump to abide by the Constitution or protect me from having Trump become America's first dictator?
Actually... .the gifted Kat Kerr has predicted that in 2024 V. P. Pence will be elected President and will be given two terms............ .... so if she is correct..... President Trump will continue to be influential for the next thirteen years minimum....... (Actually.... she also predicted that V. P. Pence's V. P. will be elected President in 2032....... and also given two terms........... after that.... Messiah Yeshua - Jesus comes metaphorically RIDING A DONKEY....... no kidding.... this is interesting....... before honor comes humility. G-d is humbling the DemonCratic party)!
Not true. Obamacare, iran deal, sicking the irs on political enemies, fast and furious, allowing his secretary of state to fabricate false documents to go after Trump. These are just off the top of my head. Its absurd to think Obama had anything on trump except maybe a little external class.
Obamacare was a legal attempt to ofer access to medical care for more Americans. It was a good thing to do. The Iran deal was struck to prevent Iran from continuing development of atomic technology that could be used to produce atomic weapons. It was a good idea, & was working well until Trump came with his fact-less opinion that Iran was cheating--which all the UN & U.S. professional inspectors denied. The FBI did an investigation of the Trump campaign to determine whether someone there was colluding with Russia in the election. Those kinds of suspicions MUST be investigated. Otherwise, if they turned out to be true & wasn't investigated, those in charge would have been fired for incompetence. It was required. The fact that no charges were filed against Trump or his subordinates for collusion is an illustration that the inspection was honest & reported what it actually found. If it had been a conspiracy, they would have come up with evidence to incriminate Trump & his people based on lies, if necessary.
Obamacare was extortion plain and simple. It was horrible and cost people like me thousands of dollars per year. The Iran deal was negotiating with terrorists and at best delayed them getting nukes.
If i were talking to iran I'd only have one sentence for them. The United States will not allow you to obtain Nuclear capability.
And we on the left feel exactly the same thing about Trump. The complete hypocrisy of people on the left DEMANDING that we Treat Trump with respect and reverence when they wouldnt show the same to Obama is just ludicrous. Why should I treat Trump any better than you guys treated Obama?
I wasn’t a fan of Obama but trump absolutely disgusts me. While the overall media was definitely nicer to Obama I attribute that more to his character, demeanor and policy than anything else. Obama was treated much worse by the opposing party than the current president however.
He is an enemy of the Constitution and I knew it after listening to him for 30 minutes. He should be in jail.
Honestly, Turin, I could easily think of at least a dozen ways in which Trump is vastly superior to Obama, but you wouldn't accept any of them. So, you can feel welcome to go right on hating Trump, and I'll go right on loathing and despising Obama, who was surely the very worst president I've known in my long life.... No one else comes close to being a thoroughly BAD for this country... not even Richard Nixon, and although he's a close-second, not even Lyndon Johnson. No, Obama is in a 'class' by himself....
Did you actually think Trump was serious? I guess you thought he actually asked Russia to hack Hillary emails too.
