This year along with a Muslim model, Sports Illustrated is featuring a plus sized model. This seems to be a case of SI not recognizing who its audience is. Men are biologically wired to be attracted to physically fit women and are naturally repulsed by morbid obesity. I am at a loss on how SI could believe this kind of cover shoot could attract new readers instead of chasing off current readers.

I am sorry but 240 lbs of congealed fat flopping around on the beach in a string bikini is just not a good look.

While I hate to agree with this, and I sure we agree on nothing else (except maybe Hockey), I tend to agree with this... I have no issues with plus sized models, Ashley Graham for example, but she's a nice looking woman in a larger body (including height). But this woman (who is NOT on the cover, BTW) is just not attractive in any way. I guess I know what SI is going for here, but there is probably a line when dealing with this issue and this is pretty close to it.

Not sure why they can't just find attractive "normal" women with normal women bodies.... They are out there... Don't need to be Hannah Davis skinny nor Kate Upton curvy to be attractive.

But now I feel guilty for even responding to this...

When is the Michael Cohen prison jumpsuit issue coming out?

    Good stuff, EB.

I have to agree that I she is really WAY Too Overweight to be featured the Swimsuit Issue.

Of course, that is just my opinion. And, if others find her "attractive" they are certainly entitled to their opinion. Different strokes, etc.

TBH, when I saw the photoshoot, the first thing that popped into my head was this...

Normalizing unhealthy lifestyles which result in massive medical problems is truly irresponsible.

You are right. Let me tell you about a girl I once planned to marry.

Bonnie had a particular smile and attitude at her job that I just was so amazed with. She was a true beauty. She had an outstanding body. She was 1/4 chinese, 1/4 filipino and half european. She really just was beautiful. I would be wasting a lot of time telling all of her charm. She really was super nice to be with.

She and i went to the mountains and she could run up the mountains like she was born there. She told me she got that strong when she lived at Oahu in Hawaii.

She amazed me the day she told me she had been extremely fat. She said she was over 400 pounds at an earlier age. Her remaining problem was on her arms. She still had folds of skin that was loose. Her legs were great. i never tried to tell her how to fix her problems with her arms. Most of the time she had on a sweater top with long sleeves.

But that woman on the beach never would come close to being as beautiful as was Bonnie. But I never saw Bonnie when she was over 400 pounds either.

First we're told obesity is a national health problem to the point where Mooch pushed her stupid school lunches on us, now, due to political correctness, we're glamorizing it. What's next, amputees and paralyzed women until every possible fetish has been covered?

Saw it this weekend and they have certainly expanded the diversity of what can be construed as beauty nowadays. The plus size "models" don't do a thing for me and frankly shouldn't be in bathing suits....but thats me. Some guys love it, so that's that. Won't fault them. I have more of a problem trying to normalize this as healthy. B.S. There is only a tiny, TINY portion of people with true disorders that prevent them from being a healthy weight. And healthy doesn't mean ridiculously fit. It means NOT obese or overweight. And that woman guaranteed looks like that because of lifestyle and personal choices. But if she's making money being fat, then good for her. And she IS fat. She is not "healthy" by any definition of the word. That body style should not be celebrated or glorified in any way. Its just more celebration of the lowest common denominator. Its ok to be fat. Just be you. Be comfortable in your skin. Uuum. NO its not good. She'll either have heart disease soon, or already has it. A heart simply can't pump blood through all that in an efficient way, nor can your joints handle the extra strain due to the weight.

Talk to any trainer on earth that isn't selling snake oil to make people feel good.

There is nothing physically attractive about an extremely overweight and unhealthy person whether male or female.

Theres 'plus size' and then theres unhealthy.

Some women are built big, stocky and/or thick, and humans are supposed to have some fat on them. But being unhealthy is not something to celebrate.

I asked Bonnie why she was so fat and now (around 1991) so pretty and fit. She told me when she lived on Oahu, around Pearl Harbor, she had no motivation to lose the fat. Seeing her so fit, it was difficult to imagine her as very obese.

She never hid it that she had been super fat.

She said the thing that changed her was she went up a few floors by the steps to her doctor. She got into the office and was tired out. As she sat in the office, another young lady also entered the office. She was in serious trouble and ended up flat on the floor. She was taken to the hospital and died later. Bonnie asked on a later visit what happened to the young woman and was then informed she died at the hospital.

Bonnie says it changed her life. She started to get more active. Before it ended, she was running along some of the trails in Oahu and enjoying being fit.

But seeing a girl almost die in front of her woke her up.

Again, Bonnie in this terrible exposure by my cell phone. Frankly i have to try again to get a better photo.

We were up in Redwood country and she was sitting close to an enormous Sequoia Giant.

Obesity is only recently deemed a poor physical trait for females.

So we can expect some guy like this in his skimpy bathing suit to be in the next Cosmo calendar of sexy men?
