    Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib are members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The DSA is opposed to Zionism and Israel.

    As late as 2012, one former DSA leader described the group as "the place to go on the left if you were a socialist and you were pro-Israel". The group’s founders found common cause with progressives inside the Jewish state, embracing rank-and-file socialists there as well as political leaders like former prime minister Shimon Peres. Not anymore.

    Anti-Zionist activism and rhetoric are not new phenomena in American left-wing politics. Previously, the staunchly anti-Communist DSA saw no contradiction between being pro-Israel, or at least pro-left-wing-Israel, and being a proud socialist. That changed with Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel (BDS). BDS aims to pressure the Jewish state into changing its policies toward the Palestinian Arab populations within Israel. A Palestinian flag was waved at DSA meetings.

    By the way, Bernie Sanders has never been a member of the DSA.

    What is interesting is the fact I hear nothing from the left wing Media condemning her for her comments. She and one of the other darling of the democrats, Omar, seem to be immune to criticism from the likes of CNN and MSNBC.

    According to the fairy tale they were supposed to have killed them. Instead they treated them like guests. They put them up in bungalows far from the fighting instead of putting them in apartments in Dresden.

    I've heard nothing from the MSM and only Pelosi from the dems defending her.

    But then again, Nancy hosted an islamist the other day in the capitol building.

    Washington state Representative Matt Shea has taken credit of a manifesto of sorts titled "Biblical Basis for War" that outlines a coming holy war, a battle that would require killing any non-Christian who does not "yield."

    She was elected in a district that has a big Muslim population. In Brooklyn which has a huge Jewish polulation a person who has made some insensitive comments about Palestinians and Muslims in general could easily be elected. No big deal at all. Non issue.

    Omar is definately anti-semitic, but Tlaib's comments - though bizarre - I don't think were anti-Semitic comment when read in context. I do think anti-Semitism
    is rising in the American Left.
