Everyone has an equal set of rights. It is the framework from which we start. And when it comes to access to housing, employment, education, these have been applied broadly and uniformly in this country. I expect that anywhere I go in this nation, the access to housing, education, and employment are uniformly available to me. Simple as that.

It, in fact, is not. Under Federal Law, there is no ability to discriminate. If you look at some state laws, there are gaps. These are being tested in the SCOTUS this term in fact. Likely, the court will rule in a way that you will favor. As it will for me. You don't seem to understand the framework though, that seems concerning...

I think it would be very tough for the local deli or Walmart to relocate to overseas; that sandwich might be rather stale by the time it hits the USA. Most employers would not relocate overseas because they'd go out of business very quickly.

Given this logic, you'd put transgender folks in the same category as political ideology because it is then a choice. Right?

You will not get an accurate poll for one simple reason....Conservatism has changed recently and those who were once referred to as conservative (like me) are now called everything from RINO to Liberal by the new version (Trumpists),

There can be no such thing as equal opportunity. A 5'7” plump clumsy guy doesn't have any opportunity to play for the NBA. trying to force that crap is moronic.

As a old Goldwater conservative with some of Perot thrown in, I've always believed in equal opportunity, but not equal outcomes.. I always believed an individuals decisions, actions, a willingness to improve or not themselves, to apply themselves or not, has a bearing on their individual well being or not so well being.

Granted, not everything is within an individuals control, there are times when the downs isn't the individuals fault. Yet determination can get that individual back on the right track. An individuals motivation, decisions, actions, has more to do with a good outcome in life vs. a bad one.

Do you realize how many programs the govt operates specifically for minorities and women that would have to go away for this to be a reality?

    I don't believe that for a minute.
Your kind will not be happy until there is equality of outcome.

What you mean is all the businesses that could relocate overseas have already done so, so there's no reason from holding back and dumping the remaining businesses with burdensome regulations now.

You want to run a business, either you go by the rules or don't run a business. Plain and simple as that.

You don't have a problem with that business getting up and moving to another country to avoid those rules, while still being allowed to sell you stuff tariff-free?

In many cases these stupid rules have only pushed jobs overseas.

I believe all citizens should have equal opportunity to be the best they can be and to reach for what they are able to achieve. And I believe it is the proper role of the parent, the teacher, the trainer etc. to encourage each person to be the best they can be and to reach for the best that they are able to achieve. Too many people accomplish far less than they are capable simply because they are encourages to be less than they can be or nobody ever showed them the possibilities of what they can achieve.

For instance I have very strong aptitude for basic mathematics. Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, figuring percentages or ratios, visualizing debits and credits etc. come naturally and effortlessly for me, while some of that is frustrating and not easy for others. So I want equal opportunity to compete for positions/roles that my abilities and aptitude and experience qualify me to do.

But as much as I wish I understood more advanced math and naturally see solutions using it, I do not have the aptitude for that and it will never come as easy and effortless for me as it is for many of you. So equal opportunity in positions/roles that require thinking and problem solving using advanced math is not reasonable for me. Just as I should not have equal opportunity to play pro baseball or pro basketball or pro football for which I do not have the natural physical abilities to do. And the top athlete in any of those positions or the math genius who sees solutions that most do not see might be terrible trying to do some of the things that I do easily and without even trying all that hard.

We each have our blessings, our gifts, our aptitude, our own areas of genius. And equal opportunity should be available to us to utilize all of that. But standards should not be lowered or the definition of excellence changed just to make it easier for some to compete. To do that out of some kind of warped sense of social justice diminishes us all and encourages mediocrity and stagnation.

Actually it is. In the Fla. Keys there are hotels and motels that cater only to gay people. If you're a liberal it's ok to discriminate.
Here's another of Ron's people practicing inclusiveness.

A University of Notre Dame student who has voiced negative statements about men and is openly opposed to Catholic sexual ethics was recently confirmed as director of the student government’s Department of Gender Relations.
The student who recently took the helm is Anne Jarrett.

Jarrett, a junior, tweeted March 29: “The only thing this has taught me is that men are gross and they don’t deserve opinions and I categorically do not want to f*** them.”
    https://www.thecollegefix.com/men-dont-deserve-opinions-tweeted-new-director-of-gender-relations/

This is how the lefties practice no discrimination.

Why don't you just answer the question. If you were going to rent a room in your house would you rent it to anybody?

I have no problem with that; if they cannot go by our rules, pick up and leave. In fact don't even bother to form a company here, instead start up the company overseas, that way you'll save a lot of start up costs, only to have to move out of the US to avoid going by the rules.

We have stupid laws because we have a lot of stupid Americans who are prejudiced and racist & the government needs to be able to ensure that everyone gets a fair shake in life regardless of skin color, religion, ethnic background or sexual orientation.

Life is not fair. It wouldn't be fair if no one got discriminated against for race or gender, and it wouldn't be fair even if no one got discriminated against for anything at all.

So this is only one small element of things you would be attempting to make more fair.

But will it be fair for businesses? No.
Because it will severely punish businesses for things that are not and should not be illegal. That's when the jury decides what constitutes evidence that it was discrimination.

I think people like you just want to terrorize businesses into implementing affirmative discrimination.
That's the only way your actions would make sense (unless you just haven't thought this through).

Quite simply I believe that workers should have rights in the work place; obviously you feel to the contrary. Like you say, those businesses that don't like our laws will move overseas. I'll be on the shore waving goodbye to them.

I'm not against them have some rights.

Don't try to conflate that with what we're talking about here.

You want to implement a law that's unprovable (mind reading technology does not exist), so therefore the law is going to make the court or jury rely on other things that I believe they should not, but maybe that's exactly what you want.

    Some rights?? Such as?

There is no combining going on here and you know it.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, however if you don't agree with the laws, work to change them legally, tho' somehow I don't think you will have much luck on this one. I still think your viewpoint of businesses going over seas is the best idea you've had so far. I'll say it again, let them leave, i'll stand on the shore and wave goodbye to them.
