Nope. You do not have the right to discriminate against anyone you wish. Business owners rights are not violated.

It's called the right of free association, and your two sentences cannot both be true. Either business owners do have the right to associate with who they want, or they have lost that right.

They destroyed my civil rights by outlawing my opinion.

    Both are true.
Business owners are not permitted to discriminate against certain parties, by law. They do not nor did they ever have such a right.

Why do Trump supporters want the "right" to discriminate against gay people so badly?

What you aren't getting is that our system has public accommodation businesses as a major way in which we distribute goods and services to people within our borders.

You can discriminate on your own time. But, when you are taking advantage of our government supported system of distributing goods and services, those who walk in off the street must not be bullied or denied service on the basis of factors that have no immediate practical purpose - such as religion, skin color, etc.

These laws a highly limited to blocking bullying in this one circumstance.

I don't even need to know they are 'gay", why do they have to tell everyone.. why do they think they have to identify themselves based on sex? "Hi. my name if Todd.. I'm a heterosexual" goofy.. isn't it? I have rented to 'gay' people before, I knew them well before they ever rented and knew them to be good renters, had another acquaintance that worked with them and that person asked me "is so and so gay/" and I gave them my stock answer "Why? are you looking for a date" .

    Yes I do.

I can discriminate against anyone I wish for any reason I wish and no law can stop me

No law exists to stop me

I have that right and so does everyone else except business owners who are discriminated against by the government which violates their rights.

Our system distributes nothing and a private business but definition is not a public accommodation.

Those are facts I do get it

    You are simply wrong.

    No it does not

I own no business I can discriminate any way I like.

As can you and we both do so

You just wish to violate the rights of a minority with government force.

Prior to the civil rights acts, yes they did. Businesses were privately owned and anybody could be thrown out or hired on a whim. Still technically privately owned, but with so many restrictions that it would be hard to argue that they are privately owned in practice.

It's not like my house where I can choose who to invite inside. It's only if I want to rent or sell to somebody that suddenly it's privately owned in name only.

There are ways around that, but why do we need to circumvent stupid laws?

    Yes, they did.

You obviously arent really all that aware of why the civil rights acts were passed. It was a stupid attempt at getting rid of what a stupid government saw as a problem which you say didnt exist.

Why do you think the CRA was even an issue back in the day? Do you know nothing of recent history?

They did not have the right to discriminate, any more than slave owners had a right to own another human being. Sorry.

The House didn’t expand anything. Senate passage and a Presidential signature are required.

Conservatives oppose hand outs and Affirmative Action but support equal treatment and fairness.

i dont understand why they arent behind this.
