Maybe the strategy now, rather than impeachment, is to put on full display the lengths to which Crooked Donald is refusing to comply with any request for information.

For the minions, no request for anything.......no matter if it is ruled to be lawful.........is a reasonable request. That is understood.

The 24/7 propaganda machine lead by Faux is running full tilt, spewing nonsense and dubiously legal arguments so the Orange Turd looks like he is being put upon unfairly.

Increasingly, the ball is in the court of the judiciary. One hopes it is has not corrupted by right wing ideologues to the point when the Constitution begins to fray.

One thing is for sure. The GOP's claims of being strict constitutionalists is being exposed for the fraud it has been for some time.

House Judiciary Committee Subpoenas Hope Hicks

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/house-judiciary-subpoenas-hope-hicks

The House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed former White House communications director Hope Hicks and ex-White House counsel staffer Annie Donaldson on Tuesday.

In the requests, the committee demands a wide range of materials from each of the former Trump administration officials, including documents that relate to potential obstruction of justice by President Trump.

Hicks is requested to testify before a June 19 hearing. Donaldson’s hearing is scheduled for June 24.

I just hope they don't plan on waiting until June 19 or 24 to start impeachment procedures. I don't think the country will stand for inaction for that long anymore.

This is a funny kind of #WitchHunt. Let's call everyone ever employed by President Trump and ask them for evidence of obstruction of justice. If they don't confess, I guess the House can hold them in contempt for lying.

Are they also going to ask them when did he stop beating Melania? Perhaps they can just tie them up and throw them into a body of water to see if they float?

We have a name for this - it's called Mccarthyism and the question will once again have to be ask, "do you have no shame?"

Lee, you are continuing to answer your own thread. Bad day going on? One would think you are unhappy with Trump being in the WH. Say it ain't so.
Based on your panic over Barr telling Nadler to shove it quickly followed by McGahn snubbing the group of malcontents, I might venture you will not handle another no show very well.

Take a look at this: the one person who can confirm or deny the Democrats bull about obstruction of justice, Robert Mueller, doesn't want to testify before the House committee.

To this point it appears Pelosi still has her heels dug in. She wants to keep issuing fruitless subpoenas and demand testimony the WH refuses to allow in order to win the PR campaign. She must look at it as the least likely strategy to backfire and not give the Orange Turd the opportunity to use impeachment as a rhetorical weapon to play the victim.

IMO there are larger issues at stake than the next election. Allowing a criminal to go unimpeached, made worse by this stonewalling, sets a very dangerous precedent.

I heard on the radio that more Democrats are calling for impeachment. I haven't heard on what charges since there's no crime.

The public isn't demanding investigations into Trump and his associates. Only rabid, delusional leftists talk non-stop about getting Trump.

The rest of the country can't wait for football season to begin.

I agree. Billy the Bagman's deceit worked well. But should the popularity of impeachment be the deciding factor or the clear evidence a crime was committed?

1- There is a crime (read the Mueller Report... for example)
2- Impeachment is not necessarily for crimes

Repeating that until your face turns blue is not going to make it real

Trump is the President. And Trump is a criminal. You accept that.

I don't speak for the entire country. Just for those who are patriotic and believe that we are a country of laws. I don't speak for the rest, but I couldn't care less what they think.

I completely agree. Though Nancy Pelosi is a very skilled politician. Who knows what card she's hiding under her sleeve.

The Mueller report? If there is a crime in the Mueller report then you point it out.

The only crime President Trump committed was beating the crap out of Crooked Hillary.

It was inevitable that when the top people were skirting subpoenas because of "executive privilege" that the Committee's would subpoena second tier players with no special claim. This is an end around that worries the Trump team, because the truth will hit the airwaves, the public will be aroused and the public will demand an accountability. There is little the White House can do to dodge this bullet.

The viewing audience will build once the hearings get rolling and a lot of dirty laundry gets exposed. Look for the GOP, Trump, and Trump supporters to go to impossible extremes in an attempt to discredit anyone that testifies. That didn't work during Watergate and it won't work this time. Meanwhile the House isn't going to play Trump's delay game and neither is the Third Branch of Government. The court's are moving fast on this and establishing precedent or amplified existing precedent.

History is being made here and those on the wrong side will end up with asterisks after their names in the history books, fade away, or go to jail. The conversation about disbarment for Barr on charges of obstruction and lying to Congress no longer seems improbable. Whether the GOP will suffer term damage from this will be decided as this plays out. Impeachment proceedings, if that happens, will garner a lot of public interest and they will become public regardless of anyone's wishes to the contrary.

Once the Mueller Report and White House corruption hits mainstream media cable hookup, everything will change.
