Minorities who constantly get, cheated, most definitely are not against a law which favors those who've been cheated by us greedy evil Caucasoids who never admit that we cheat.

Educational success and great preparation for advanced exams, does exactly correlate to parents' income. Poverty prevents so many dreams from coming true. Yes and poverty has always prevented, geniuses, from having access to the mainstream-society that can benefit from their brilliance.

IMHO 'tis not a University's job to recruit only those students who are the most, book smart, but students who are the most creative and innovative and then books smart.

 

Unfortunately the affirmative action doesn't work. Students admitted without book smarts fail to thrive at the elite universities.

 

1) do you have any idea what the selective schools program is? apparently not. it is SPECIFICALLY to give capable and hard working kids from difficult economic circumstances the opportunity to access accelerated learning. and apparently 40% of the kids in your own system are from poor families. IOW, you're talking nonsense. the only thing between a poor kid and academic success is the dedication and focus of their parents. that costs nothing, and is available to ALL parents.

2) yes, that's exactly what a university's job is. to enrol on MERIT, not some arbitrary accident of birth .. which is pure discrimination.

 

Not only that, but all such entries are a function of discrimination. For every kid who's given access purely because their skin is the right tone, a kid who worked his/her behind off to get there (sometimes against great odds) misses out.

 

Universities should recruit the best candidates they can without respect to race or any other consideration. No it shouldn't even be that. Universities should recruit the students they want, using whatever criteria they want. Umm private universities that is.

Nearly everyone believes all the doors in society should be equally open to everyone and they pretty much are. However it is up to each individual to walk through that door and yes some doors are harder than others.
And yes some people are not willing or capable to work to get through thoes doors.
There are many that i want through but i can't do it. That's not a bad thing, it's just the way it is. One thing everyone can do is work hard and make their lives better .
