Trump Campaign to Purge Pollsters After Leak of Dismal Results

It would be legitimate for him to fire people for leaking things. You don’t want your team to leak. If they do they aren’t really 100% on board. But I think it is more complicated than that.

I think there are a couple of possibilities.

One is that he is not unhappy with the leak of polling data per se. He is unhappy that the leak shows him in a negative light and his fragile ego can’t stand that.

Another is that the people around him can’t get him to believe or even look at bad polling data. They know the only way to get that information in front of him is to put it out in the media. When it gets out there, his fragile ego is incapable of accepting the bad data so he fires those that created it.

Either way this is a president who is so insecure and fragile that he is driven by his ego. Pathetic.

So an unauthorized leak leads to the pollsters that leaked the info being fired.

And there is zero indication that the pollsters were fired because they leaked his bad internal polling. They were fired because they did their job and trump needed to be appeased because he is a thin skinned little bitch of a snowflake.

 

I thought the topic header was suppose to be exactly as the headline of the article used on this sub-forum.

The headline of the article clearly states that they were fired because of leaks......not because of the spin the OP wanted us to believe.

Based on my research in to this whole issue, It appears that someone leaked internal polling numbers, but only leaked those that painted Trump in the worst light....from a few months ago, right before the Mueller report was released. It sounds like this really had nothing to do with the numbers themselves, but had everything to do with the leaking of the numbers.

 

No, they showed that HRC was going to win the popular vote. And the average of the those polls was accurate to within about 1%.

 

There is very little difference between "fired for releasing dismal results" and "fired after leak of dismal results."

The Trump campaign fired 3 people: Michael Baselice, Adam Geller, and Brett Lloyd after the poll numbers were released to ABC. Baselice and Geller are expected to begin work with America First, a pro-Trump super PAC. The narrative that it was about the numbers was an unnamed source with no real inside knowledge. A person that DID have inside knowledge of the actual discussions disputed that claim and said it was all about the leaks. Even CNN reported this:

It's probably 50/50.... he doesn't like leaking and he doesn't like losing, so take your pick.

Also, it's possible one of the pollsters was caught coughing, which as we now know is a sin in Trumpworld...

Really??? You can not distinguish the difference between being fired because of poor polling numbers or because of leaking those numbers to the press? If one on my employees were over budget on a project, I would not necessarily fire him.....however, I certainly would fire him if he leaked the fact that a project was over budget without my permission. Sorry, but I deal with facts, not blurring lines for partisan purposes.

No, they only way polls are going to start working for Trump is to change the QUESTIONS, not the answers.

Instead of "Is Trump doing a good job?", go with "Isn't Trump still better than Hillary?"....... you might get to 50% with that one...

 

Actually there is a massive difference. These are internal polls, which means they are not for public dissemination. So whoever leaked these polls violated the terms of their contract and got fired for it. I cant believe this is such a hard concept to grasp.
