"Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States," Trump tweeted last Monday. On Sunday, the Gestap... I mean... ICE will launch massive raids targeting undocumented Americans for deportation. A shortage of space in Concentration Camps... I mean... Detention Centers, had left no space to hold these Americans before extermin... I mean... deportation. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...rgeting-undocumented-families-sunday-n1020446
A dictatorial regime with no concern for human beings, which governs on the basis of fear-mongering and promoting hate against certain ethnic groups. Sometimes making up, other times exaggerating threats in order to cling to power by exploiting racist and xenophobic sentiments among their supporter base.
These are illegals who have been ordered to turn themselves in for deportation. They failed to do so.
Many people are ordered to turn themselves in and fail to do so. How many times do you see massive raids announced in political rallies to hunt them down by a President? That is not the point. Maybe some of them committed violent crimes, and should be deported. But this political display of force is fascism at its purest.
I know of no other country who willingly lets people who enter illegally just stick around A few years ago we entered Australia and one of their custom agents asked me how long we would be there. I can't remember all the details but we left a few days later than what I said. My VISA was still good, but they pulled me aside to question me about it. Trump should not have announced it, but we need to start clamping down on illegals coming and going at their leisure.
From your statements it seems you are against the U.S. Constitution and also against our laws. Are there other laws you would like law enforcement to ignore? If you throw around terms like Gestapo, extermination, and concentration camps you are being insensitive to the people who lived under the Gestapo or were actually in a concentration camp. How can you insult our country like you did? Maybe you prefer another country than the good old U.S. of A.
Every country pulls people aside to question them about their Visa. That is probably done here more often than anywhere else. But again, not the point. We need to clamp down on many things. Illegals coming and going is one problem. But not one of the main ones in this country.
I did not realize we should tackle the most important problems first. Around my house, there are some important tasks like a barn that needs painting or a couple of trees that should be taken down. But I still went out and mowed the lawn. Generally, I pick what is most expedient at the time.
A Trump supporter questioning if I'm against the Constitution and our laws? Really? I'll tell tell you what. I disagree with many laws and with some articles in the Constitution. But, unlike those who support Trump, I believe they should all be respected. Even the ones I disagree with. My post is not about respecting or not respecting laws. It's about making a political position out of racism, xenophobia and fear-mongering. If you enter this country illegally, you commit a crime. If you rob a bank, if you fail to pay your taxes, if you fail to care for your child... those are all crimes. If you use them for political fear-mongering... that's pure unadulterated fascism! And don't give me that crap about throwing terms around lightly. Children are being separated from their parents as a matter of policy. And you want political correctness? We're past that! Now the best way to respect those who suffered in concentration camps is to not allow this to escalate to levels anywhere near those!.
Trump is full of crap on this. ICE doesn't have anywhere close to the capacity to do what Trump suggests they are going to do. One again, he's lying in the hopes that his base continues to be totally incapable of brain activity.
Has it occurred to you that the illegals put us in that position when they bring children across the border. Our border agents have discovered that children are being recycled. They come across the border with one set of "parents" and then a little later with a different set of "parents". They drag them up here under hazardous conditions at which point we are supposed to save them and treat them better than their own parents. They are most likely safer under the separation policy than they were before they were separated.
Fixing our infrastructure, dealing with climate change, fixing the healthcare system, finding alternatives for workers in the coal industry, dealing with income inequality, increasing cost of college tuition, stopping Russia from meddling in our electoral system, the increase in mass shootings, the slowing GDP, ... those are just a few examples of problems that are more expedient at this time... and infinitely more urgent than immigration at the southern border. And which this administration has done absolutely nothing to help solve.
Shouldn't much of that been done while Obama was president? It seems like it all had the same priority then. As a matter of fact, Obama was going to work on the infrastructure as a way to recovering the economy. I thought that was a great idea. Never happened. Couldn't find any "shovel ready" projects.
No! The parents of these children are heroes! We should look up to them in admiration. It's the Trump administration that puts children in this position. Blaming the victim will not work
They're desperate. They're ready to do pretty much anything possible to at least get their children out of the best circumstances they can provide in their country of origin. And, I think they know what is safest for them - which is highly unlikly to involve having their children taken from them and incarcerated until some later date with some unknown disposition.
Only the left could describe 'enforcing the law' the way you've done. I'm yet to read an accurate statement from you in this thread. It's quite impressive.
