Heroes????? I don't quite see the heroic efforts in winning a soccer game. Sure, they have accomplished much and should be honored for it....but "Heroes"? Really?

She is a heterophobe and a manophobe. She is great athlete (for a woman) but she is also a person with deep seated hatreds for her fellow Americans. Aren't you the side that says it is ok to hate the haters?

I have to give her credit though, I wouldn't have even known about the USA soccer team's existence if it weren't for her media whoring attacks on America. So... mission accomplished I guess.

I will be forever grateful that I never had to watch nationally televised soccer growing up, a gift that will be denied to my grandchildren. Soccer taking over America is part of the left's erasure of the best parts of our culture to be replaced by the mediocre and boring.

What's the issue? You can't control what they watch? Or does this means their parents like soccer?

To each his own. I find baseball and golf particularly quite boring.

I don't know how legally right he is. If he is innocent of wrongdoing, then he should encourage his people to honor subpoenas, not ignore them.
The Supreme Court has "stopped" Trump, and he is trying to find a way around it, maybe with an Executive order.
I don't know that the Congress issued subpoenas with legal intent. Trump refused to answer them because he was afraid of the findings, and nothing more.

Looking at it from his point of view, why would he encourage his people to honor subpoenas on something that he feels is a "witch hunt" and/or is being drug out for political purposes? Congress does not always have the final say and their motives are often more political than in the interest of the country or with legal intent....from both sides of the political aisle. If Congress does not like people ignoring subpoenas, then they have a legal recourse they can use. The "will, if he is innocent..." argument is a poor one. You know as well as the rest of us that things are spun to imply guilt even if there really is none. Politicians are also judge in the "public court" more often than any other court. I think your dislike of Trump is clouding your logic and reasoning. I can think of numerous reasons where Trump would not want people to answer subpoenas and they have nothing to do with "afraid of the findings".....and these reasons have been used by Presidents for decades.

Yes, SCOTUS did stop the census question, but their reasoning was suspect. When they say there is a good chance the Government would win their case but they just want better reasoning, it is understandable to look for other methods around it. All Presidents would do this if the issue was important to them. Issuing an EO is not illegal.....though I myself do not like them.

If I said that it is part of the liberal globalist conspiracy to take over America, would you think I was a nutter? Never mind, I think I know the answer to that. I guess I am just sad that the better culture that I grew up with is being replaced with a significantly more insipid, less creative and more banal one. If I am being honest, I would contend the peak of Western civilization was in the 19th century.... 90% of the greatest literature ever written was created in that era.

She dropped it on the ground so she could have a photo op. I don't care what else she is proud of she isn't proud of the flag.

No, it was not. The flag is to never touch the ground. Dropping it on the ground intentionally or unintentionally shows great disrespect for the flag and our nation

No, she could have easily handed the flag off to a team mate, a photo can wait 15 seconds.

It looks like an accident to me. Of course, the religiously nationalists are going to crucify anyone who, God forbid, mishandles a flag of the USA.

That is the position of nationalists only. Worshiping a flag, religiously, placing a symbol over a person.

The Flag Code forbids American flags on clothing except for military uniforms or the sleeve of a civilian shirt. MAGA hats have the American Flag on the SWEAT BAND. They turn the American flag into a sweat rag, but Trump Fanboys complain about a flag dropped for 1 second in the heat of an emotional celebration. Give it a rest, dude.

    You cannot be serious.

Read up on FDR's ideas about MLB players boosting national morale during the war. This is why he refused to shut down the game during those critical years:

The thing is, overseas people engage in even more athletic hero worship than do Americans. I well remember the Hemingway novel Old Man and the Sea in which the old sailor was in a crisis. He asked himself, what would his hero Joe DiMaggio under these circumstances? He was inspired by his hero and overtook the large shark that he fished out.

My dad was a legendary semi pro baseball player and boxer. One day years after he retired a man stepped up to him and said, "I remember you - you were my hero when I was growing up". This is just the way things are. In fact, my dad had his heroes in Casey Stengel, Ted Williams, and Jack Dempsey.

Like it or not, this wonderful team is comprised of many great heroes. They have and will continue to inspire many little girls and boys to ascend to great heights in life.

A reminder that there is no statute of limitations on murder. That includes the needless killing of American soldiers by traitors like right wing hero Bush.

As always, if you righties hadn't been so petty in attempting to crucify someone over a little mistake while conveniently overlooking the good they did in a thread such as this, we would not be having this problem. Would we?

Of course she did. Really. She can parade with American Flag forever from now on now that she've made a statement she wanted to, many American will remember her throwing it on the ground.

To be seen in the company or attending something where this America hating schmuck being present is beneath anyone. Why would US president even consider being seen in her company?

No... we do not hate her.

American patriots, on the other hand, do not hate her. Despise, condemn, loathe her but not hate her. I personally feel sorry for a schmuck.
