It's weird that's for sure. Here we are, a Neo-Fascist White Supremacist Trumptatorship, that overthrew democracy with Russian assistance, and we can't keep hundreds of thousands of immigrants begging to be thrown into our concentration camps! It's just like Germany in the 1930's when millions of Jews tried to get into Germany so they could get the early showers.

It's about cost per labor hour. We can't possibly compete with wages from the third world, which is why the policies of running labor costs down to the world bottom is dangerous for American workers.

Intelligence, laws, and a work ethic also matter, which is why only businesses involving the simplest tasks invest in third world countries. Otherwise there'd be a lot more investors in parts of Africa and Asia. Investing in the first world is far less risky and more worry free.

I would say we vote alongside citizens of America.

Well, we in WA and OR actually vote by mail. There are no polling places here.

So, nobody gets to use the various vulnerabilities of polling places as tools for denying people the vote.

I don't know what the thrust of your post is. All Americans "vote alongside" citizens of America. Are you disagreeing or trying to extrapolate on anything I said?

In review, I think I didn't quite get what you meant when you said "alongside immigrant groups".

I really hate polling places, because of the numerous vulnerabilities to assaults on democracy that they offer. I'd rather we didn't vote alongside each other for that reason.

In OR and WA (and I think at least one other state) we decided it would be better to get rid of polling places entirely.

Ah, I see. My use of the word "alongside" was, perhaps, inadvisable.

No, I should have had that one. I'm just a little wound up over several voting issues.

    What vulnerabilities would those be?

The list is long. It includes site selection, unequal equipment, staffing, "monitoring", outright corruption (such as hacking), false public notifications, etc. Each of those includes various techniques that may be used by those who are interested in defeating democracy.
