Not sure where to put this, closest fit.
So the "gender spectrum" was bound to cross the gender lines into questioning if one is even human. Where is the line drawn? IS there even a line at all.
Can I claim to be a bald eagle? A rock? A tree?

This 'person' (hope i used the right term) claims to be an agender alien being. So my question for the "gender spectrum" crowd is this....See where this is going? Is this a mental illness? Is this person just trolling you?

Born Female And Transitioned To Male, Jareth Nebula Now Identifies As A Genderless Alien
    By Marco Margaritoff

In an attempt to find their identity, Jareth Nebula initially transitioned from female to male — but it didn't suffice.

Jareth Nebula transitioned from female to male when they were 29 years old. Unwilling to publicly disclose their birth name, the now-33-year-old’s new legal moniker was inspired by David Bowie’s character, Jareth the Goblin King, from Jim Henson’s 1986 cult-classic fantasy film Labyrinth.

The Washington native and barbershop receptionist was disappointed to find that their gender transition didn’t seem to fill that lifelong void which inspired them to go through with it in the first place, Daily Mail reported. Thus, Jareth decided to label themselves as an agender or genderless — and as an alien.

Agender means that Jareth is genderless or gender-neutral, as opposed to being gender-fluid, which refers to a person whose gender identity is not fixed, or a person who feels they could be a mix of both genders. This newfound identity was no mere intellectual move though, as it included Jareth to have their nipples removed, adorn their face with a swath of piercings, and wear an otherworldly layer of makeup to look “less human.”

“I don’t think or feel like humans,” said Jareth Nebula. “I can’t really explain it to others — I’m simply otherworldly. I didn’t feel comfortable as either gender or even anything in between. I know I’m stuck in a human form and that’s how I’m perceived by others — but to me, I’m an alien with no gender.”

In this case, there are most definitely mental issues. This however is the extreme as intended for impact In most cases the transsexual phenom seems to develop from a gay root, in this case however it looks to be something more deeply planted.

Everything has it's outliers. Heterosexuals can cross that line with sexual addiction. But using outliers to define the entire group would be crazy.

I think we need to be careful about judging others who are 'different'. If a person decides to have elective surgery to add a third leg and foot, because they feel more balanced, and after doing so are capable of managing their lives, are no burden to others, do they have mental illness? Are people who are tattooed from head to toe, or have 50-100 piercings, mentally ill? How about rabid sports fans...are they mentally ill? The area of gender IMO just adds a few layers of complexity...gender of our birth, mental feelings, physical changes to mask or alter gender, acceptance from society, etc.

Its mental illness when it prevents them from living a 'normal life'. Defining 'normal life' nowadays however is problematic.

IMO if a person can hold a job, pay the bills and live peaceably, thats as 'normal' as anyone can reasonably expect.

It would certainly appear this individual has psychological or emotional distress, but its none of my business ...unless they make it my business, by asking/forcing me to support them financially for example.

Not sure how sex addiction is anything remotely similar to this?

I don't understand the point of the OP question.

"Where is this going?" What does that even mean?

Why would anyone be worried about the genitals of someone they don't even know?

I hope this person is getting all the love and support they need - which is what I hope for everyone on this board.

It's difficult to find love and compassion in society today when everyone is busy judging others...

The 'love and support' this person needs includes professional help. Hopefully it is receiving it.

Just because humans have had forced social strata and roles in most societies doesn't mean the anomalies have never existed.
It does however mean that the way that a human develops is essential to their mental state of recognition of self.

I have, since I was child, seen myself a an Apache Attack Helicopter. My dreams were never of going to the prom or scoring the winning touchdown but of launching several Harpoon missiles into a column of Taliban fighters. I realize you may see these satisfactions as limited to Titanium and Plexiglass beings but keep it to yourself. My maintenance crew thinks I'm beautiful and the General says " you go Gyro" every morning

I always keep in mind that if it weren't for their toxic activism, transgenders would actually just be completely harmless originals.

I don't have any idea what you're talking about here.

Obviously, advocating for equal treatement as a citizen can not be considered toxic in terms of objective.

So, I'm left wondering what methods you find objectionable. Toxic methods of activism include "send them back", Charlo, etc. - assaultive, counter to our constitution, advocation of illegal action.

Since you chose the SCIENCE forum you must now explain why your SINGLE anecdotal example must be used to overturn the FACTUAL SCIENTIFIC STUDIES demonstrating that LESS THAN 1% of all transgenders ever experience any regret.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29463477

In essence your OP is nothing more than tabloid sensationalism without any shred of actual merit worthy scientific value.

I would have replaced the word "need" with "deserve".

I don't agree, because "deserve" implies some sort of quid pro quo.
