Your source says it was for "payments" between Sep 10 and Oct 15. So basically they're crying over the 5 week period between her arrival, and her H-1B approval.

How long does it take to get an H-1B visa? Currently 2-5 months. Who knows what it was in the 90's.

This means the company she worked for applied for the H1-B BEFORE she arrived on a B1/B2 visa. You know. Legal immigration.

What they were looking at were accounting documents dated a few weeks before her VISA was in hand. That doesn't mean she received payment from the company into a bank account before she had her H-1B.

The documents the AP reviewed were not bank statements.....they were internal accounting documents.

How were most people paid in the 90's? How were deposits made? By checks, which often took a week or longer to actually deposit. Direct deposit was a relatively new concept in 1996.
