    The wall has not been built because democrats have obstructed it. I wonder if that's going to be an asset for them amongst mainstream voters in 2020, since border security is so popular with Independents.

    Many months ago, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi met with Trump in the Oval Office to reach a compromise on border wall funding. A deal was struck. Democrats would approve $25 billion to fund the entire wall. Trump would allow the Dreamer case to conclude with Democratic demands to put these folks on a path to citizenship. Everyone shook hands and left. Before Schumer and Pelosi could return to their offices, Trump reneged on the deal.

    Why? Speculation is that once the far right heard of the deal, they scotched it. Democrats won't fund the wall? Try again.

    It had amnesty for the so called DREAMERS. HELL NO! NO FRICKING AMNESTY!

    I'm glad he backed out.

    Now the Democrats need to come up with a clean bill to fund the border wall. Why haven't they done so?

    So no wall, not paid for by Mexico, trade deals have seen little to no effect, healthcare costs are still increasing, educational attainment decreasing, corporate profits way up, wages stagnant, the US is being laughed at on the world stage and an economy that has followed trend lines even though we are adding 1 trillion to the deficit in 2019 that trump said would be paid off...

    Oh, and trump is still being audited and can’t release his tax returns yet.

    And his supporters will scream victory and ‘go back to your own country’ to people born in America.

    So much winning.

    It’s called compromise.
    Republicans don’t hold a dictatorship, yet.

    Put up a national healthcare option or election reform (or both) and he could probably have as much money for his wall — that will do little on its own.

    Those who go through the legal trouble appreciate no being sanctioned against future citizenship.

    No compromise, no bucks. Simple. Oh, BTW the wall is not favored by many. Meanwhile, the Dems have approved billions for border security. Maybe you missed it.

    Ever wonder why the crisis? Things were going okay under Obama. Lots of deportations, historically low border breaches, but no drama, no caravans, nothing. Why now? What happened to rock the boat?
