292 MASS shootings so far this year in the United States

in 2016, there were 14416 murders by guns. 71 of those were mass shootings. Do libs not care about the other 14,345? We should ban AR-15 that killed 100 but don't really care about the 14316 that were killed by hand guns. We need to make semi-automatic weapons illegal but double action is ok? The gun discussion has no basis in reality. The people that talk the loudest do not seem to have a clue what they are talking about.

 

Since the AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the US, it is no wonder it is used in mass shootings. The AK-47 comes next. They are prolific. Before that mass shootings were accomplished with the popular weapons of the day.

The left's concentration on the rifle ignores the real issues underlying mass shootings and that is the sickness in our culture and I would say, much of it is inspired by the left's actions to destroy religion, morals, the family unit, and traditions that usually kept things in check. Senator Moynihan once said that the 25% fatherless families in the black community was a tragedy we now have 25% fatherless families in the white community and 75% fatherless families in the black community. Much of this are the unintended consequences of 'emotional thinking' in progressive government. There is no doubt that people meant well but the results have been devastating to a cohesive family structure.

When I say the left, I do not mean liberals because liberals and the left are fundamentally different. Liberals have always stood for things like free speech but the left does not. Liberals have always been proud to be American Nationalists and proud of America, the left thinks America is the evil in the world.

The answer to this is very complicated and to actually fix it means facing past mistakes and doing some tough decision making. Before the destruction listed above, guns were still plentiful and even in schools and none of this happened so it is not the gun but something else.

When people can face that reality honestly then we can start making meaningful changes to things like mental health care, changes in government policy that strengthens families instead of splitting them, the culture of violence in cinema which is interestingly enough brought to us by the far left in Hollywood, the strengthening of the value of religion, and the reversal of the destruction of cultural norms.

Mexico is literally killing it and they have strict gun laws and no Trump. And if Trump is to blame for this year's incidents, is Obama to blame when they happened on his watch?

My theory is we're raising kids who are coddled, aren't taught to cope when they don't get their way and get participation trophies when they lose. The left is literally teaching kids to be offended and outraged at anything and everything. You're now seeing the result of the left's handiwork.

Most of the remaking gun deaths are accidental (preventable) or suicide.

I’m not 100% sure but only around 1% of gun use is defense which kind of blows that narrative out of the water.

 

Mother jones does have a left wing bias but the information they put out is fairly factual, more factual than Fox News actually according to three separate organizations that track media bias.

So, by the FBI's own data (different than the last data source), there were 15,070 homicide deaths in the US in 2016. Of those, 11,004 were by gun. Of those, rifles accounted for 374 (all rifles, not just ARs). Not defense, not suicide, not accidental. These were all homicides. I'm not sure what narrative you think I have but I'm pretty sure it's not what you think it is.

 

You are 100% correct. As such, Sandy Hook, Aurora Theater, Washington Naval Yard, and Ft. Hood were Obama's fault.

 

And did he try to remedy the situation? I seem to recall him calling for gun reform and being blocked and in fact Mitchie boy is currently doin his best to block further legislation in the senate

The myth of a “good guy with a gun” is Dreamtime rubbish. Even IF you hear the first shot and are able to draw immediately (might have your baby in your arms or your wallet full of cash) it will take you a second or two to find the source of the gunfire before aiming and shooting by that time people are DEAD.
