Here the results of search by Google (US web search engine) and Yandex (Russian web search engine). In the section "Pictures".
Search by words "россия весна" (russia spring).

    Google results:
    Yandex results:

    A bit different, isn't it? :)

For argument's sake, let's input the new request. "сша весна" (usa spring)

    ....aaaaannnd, voila!
    Google:
    Yandex:

Accident? No, I don't think so.
But of course, there is no censorship in western media. :blahblah: (Anybody still believes at this BS?) :roflol:

Preach to the choir. Of course it's biased as all hell. They have leftist agenda to push.

This isn’t automatically censorship and it could well be the opposite.

I don’t know how Yandex performs it’s searches but Goggle uses complex algorithms which will be influenced by how (and how often) terms are actually used across the internet, favouring the most common and most clicked in its results. It could be that the Google results are an accurate representation of how “Russia Spring” is represented on the internet and so it wouldn’t be Google you’d need to be challenging. It’s equally possible their algorithm is biased or imbalanced (intentionally or not) but the results alone neither prove nor disprove that allegation.

It’s worth nothing that searching “Russian Spring” in English gives the more neutral results, so if they’re trying to be biased they didn’t do a good job. Interestingly, the same phrase in Russian gives a whole load of political protest images so translation and different uses of phrases in different languages will be relevant too.

Incidentally, I don’t see how purported bias from an American company presenting Russia in a bad light would automatically be presented as left-wing bias. The American relationship with Russia is surely much more complicated than that.

Did no one else even try this? Here are the photos that come up first in the Google image results for 'russia spring'.

Etc etc. I could keep posting but it's just more flower pictures mostly.

Go ahead and give it a try. OP is BS.

Even on the evening news very subtle inflections and cadences from the infobabe's mouth can hugely distort the actual facts and situation.

Well again, doesn’t that raise questions about your presumed reason? If Google wanted to manipulate their search results to present Russia in a bad light, wouldn’t they do it for all similar searches and in both languages? The inconsistent results in different scenarios and on different sites suggest something more complicated is going on, quite possibly an entirely unintentional quirk or how the different search engines work and what is actually out there on the internet in the different languages.

Google, like any other search provider, uses algorithms aka code programmed by humans that gives certain results depending on the input of the user and the bias of the programmer.

Google doesn't think for itself....it does exactly what its programmers told it to do.

Yandex doesn't have built-in bias like Google does. It's all in the programming. Google is **** and so is Facebook.

Yes I found similar discrepancies but on another topic. I have now switched over to Bing... not sure how much better it is and just signed up with bitchute, I think most You Tubers have a back up account with Bitchute and other platforms because You Tube keep deleting videos

Yes, like any other search provider including Yandex. Exactly how they work will vary, hence the different results (for example, Yandex is designed with Russian language in mind while to core Google algorithms will have been designed around American English). The idea that the underlying search algorithms could have bias at this kind of high level built in to them is ridiculous. It would be possible for the result to be manipulated after that (and they are for legitimate reasons, like "Safe Search" type settings or legal restrictions). None of that automatically means there are any ulterior motives involved though.

    So,what do you think?
That some people use Google - and we can see the result. And some other people use Yandex - and we can see the absolutely different result. But why? Does that mean that people, who wanna see Russia gloomy, dark, dirty - they use Google? How can it be?

As I said, the algorithms they all use are complex, so complex than you generally can’t predict what the actual outcomes will be. The sites and pages most commonly followed will be one factor in future results and while it might not be as simple as Google users wanting to see a negative image of Russia, the balance of use between Google users and Yandex users will likely be somewhat different. There will be other things such as the sites they trawl (Google favouring western sites, Yandex favouring Russian ones) and the linguistic differences I’ve mentioned (even when the search terms are in the same language, they may be interpreted/translated differently). You also seem to be assuming that Yandex couldn’t be applying its own bias as well, potentially removing negative results.

Again, I’m not giving a definitive answer, I’m not even asserting that Google isn’t inserting some kind of intentional bias here. I’m only saying that the underlying technology is much more complex and varied than is being given credit and this single raw comparison of results doesn’t in itself prove anything in any direction.

Perhaps we should all switch to Duck Duck Go. It brags about its lack of bias.

Yeah but that is the complaint in the OP and it has merit. Google knows exactly what kind of result they want to show. Just like when you type 'idiot' in the search box and hit go, the results are peppered with Donald Trump pictures and such.

Google is biased **** ran by liberals who want to brainwash the American voter more than Russia could ever dream of. It is the ultimate propaganda machine.

Again, the results being shows aren't proof that Google itself is intentionally manipulating results for political purposes.
