Tucker Carlson goes on vacation as criticism mounts over false claim about white supremacy 'hoax'
    https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/08/media/tucker-carlson-vacation-reliable-sources/index.html

"There is, of course, a long history of Fox hosts heading out on vacation as they become engulfed in controversy for inflammatory comments.

-- Laura Ingraham announced she was going on vacation in March 2018 after mocking Parkland survivor and gun control activist David Hogg...
-- Sean Hannity went on vacation in May 2017 after losing advertisers for promoting the Seth Rich conspiracy theory...
-- Jesse Watters headed out on vacation in April 2017 after making a comment widely criticized as lewd about Ivanka Trump...
-- Bill O'Reilly went -- and never returned from -- a vacation in April 2017 after NYT reported he had settled five sexual harassment allegations for millions of dollars..."
    .............................................................................................................................
There's no problem at Faux that a little down time can't fix. Promote a wing nut conspiracy theory about Seth Rich's death......take some time off. Make a claim about white supremacists that is contradicted by FBI statistics.....go fishing. It gives the Murdoch's some time to gauge the level of public outrage. For Billo the outrage was too great for them to look the other way. Especially in the light of Roger Ailes' misogynistic revelations. But looking the other way is the preferred response for the #1 conservative infotainment network.

To be clear, doing what news agencies with integrity do is always....ALWAYS.....a last resort at Faux. Because if they started firing people for egregious commentary like the kind Tucker engages in all the time the anchor's chairs at Faux would be empty.

You don't need to read the El Paso killer’s manifesto. Just turn on Fox News.

    https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-ne...-el-paso-killers-manifesto-just-turn-fox-news

"The alleged killer wrote in the document that he wanted “to exact revenge against ‘the Hispanic invasion of Texas,’ to forestall what he called ‘cultural and ethnic replacement,’ and to ‘reclaim my country from destruction,’” echoing the perpetrators of similar mass shootings, as National Review’s editors noted in denouncing him.

Those ideas, once again drenched in blood, were at one time largely restricted to fringe forums populated by hardcore white supremacists and conspiracy theorists. But in recent years, you could have easily heard them recited while watching a random night of Fox News’ prime-time lineup."

In conservative circles it's now all hands on deck to dismiss their association with white nationalism. Not too long ago the Hater-in-Chief was asked if he thought white nationalism was a problem in the US. You'll never guess what he said. The only problem Don sees with white nationalism is.....................there isn't enough of it.

Poor old Tucker is just doing as he's told.

Fox News is pushing white nationalism because the Murdochs want it to
    https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/fox-news-pushing-white-nationalism-because-murdochs-want-it

"Fox News has traditionally treated bigotry as a core part of its business model. But since the political rise of President Donald Trump, the network’s commentators have adopted talking points that had previously been the province of hardcore white supremacists. The reported manifesto of the gunman who murdered 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso, TX, on Saturday is all but indistinguishable from transcripts ripped from its prime-time shows. This shift is not an accident but a programming decision, one the network has pursued even as its hosts’ racist rhetoric has triggered costly ad boycotts."

Are you all watching The Loudest Voice about Roger Ailes and the birth of Fox "News"?

    It's pretty good.

That Roger Ailes was one gross evil pig.

Hey Lee, turn off Fox and go back to getting fed by CNN. You seem to quote them in every other post.

I've done quite a bit of reading about Ailes. Making comparisons to Nazis is always a bit controversial but I'd have to say Goebbels had nothing on Roger as a propagandist. Ailes understood how to use TV as a medium for messaging and Faux proved to be the perfect venue. Just like Trump, Ailes had a target audience and after Faux got momentum (it lost millions for the first decade) he completely captured the attention of pliable regressives. Faux still does.

Good. Tucker was flat out denying that racists exist. And of course Trump retweeted that nonsense.

Fox News Reporter Publicly Rebukes Tucker Carlson: ‘White Supremacy Is Real’
“White supremacy is real, as evidenced by fact,” one Fox reporter publicly declared on Twitter following primetime star Tucker Carlson’s claim that white supremacy is a “hoax.”

Three days after Fox News host Tucker Carlson declared on-air that white supremacy is a “hoax,” his colleague, Fox News reporter Cristina Corbin, tweeted out a rebuke of the primetime star’s comments, noting that his views do not represent hers.

“White supremacy is real, as evidenced by fact,” she wrote on Friday. “Claims that it is a ‘hoax’ do not represent my views.”

I can't believe how stupid Tucker Carlson and most of the right are in regard to this.

    Just mind blowing.

(I take that back...I can believe it).

The only hoax comes from those who deny the reality of white supremacy.

How did you come to that conclusion?Do you actually understand what you read?Provide evidence that he denied that racists exist.
